According to the BBC, Woods says alcohol was not involved - it was an 'Unexpected reaction to prescribed medication'.

Sad to see this and whilst no doubt he put his family through a hard time, I wouldn't compare him with Mike Tyson
Although this MT clip is actually quite funny at 01:01

You have an 'Unexpected reaction to prescribed medication' at which point you decide to go for a drive. At 3 in the morning...

I had a modicum of sympathy for him before, but he can fk right off now after saying that. Insulting everyone's intelligence and thinking we'll believe him simply because he's famous.

yep- so not drunk, just smacked off his tits on pills. Show's utter contempt. Here is a very wealthy man with substance abuse issues and he drives himself around rather than uses a car service. What a fking loser

Lots and lots of people (especially celebs) seem to die from overdosing on prescription meds. Hopefully he isn't going the same way.

the interviewer thought he was about to get bitten. Tyson really was a fking animal back then. He does appear to have changed dramatically in recent times. No excuse but mental health issues and the death of his daughter at such a young age

Why ?

He has allegedly committed a crime and its being reported. He was once the worlds most famous golfer and world number one. So its news.

Plus, there is a hint of Bonfire of the Vanities about him

Or are you making a video similar to this ?

I can't imagine the mental torture of being the game's best golfer by some margin to now not being able to swing a club properly. It must eat him alive. Very sad.

Indeed.

Although this happens to every sports person.

Gotta know when to hang up: gloves, boots, bat, helmet etc etc.

This is probably the main issue for him, that and he may well have surrounded himself with yes men and is not used to being told he is wrong.

It's all very well saying "he's got 800 million bucks, pack up golf, hire a driver and enjoy yourself." I doubt he played for the money as such, he will have played to win and have all of the psychopathic traits required to compete at the highest level, so will really have a hard time coming to terms with not being the best golfer in the world and not having people do exactly as he asks, not to mention at a relatively young age having a body that is failing him.

He has plenty of cash to fund sorting himself out, but will probably need the wider golf and sporting community to help him do it.

He was found asleep, parked in the car at 3am with the engine running, with no alcohol on his breath, and he had back surgery last month. Play devil's advocate, he goes out, has his meds, it has an adverse reaction, so he pulls over safely to sleep it off, but is arrested for being asleep in the car, not quite the same as it was first reported is it i.e. drunk driving and aggressive.

Not entirely beyond the realms of possibility his story is true considering the prescription drugs he's likely on in the USA after surgery.
