Bad news all round,
not only is book burning the childish pointless crap like burning flags, it goes against a core Christian belief of forgiveness, and there's a good chance it'll stir up a hornet's nest and result in US deaths.

Just shows how stupid people are who believe in a religion. If I buy a book and wish to burn it, so what ? What does it really mean to you ?
Religion and its believers always wish to be offended and then start a fight over their offence at something stupid and meaningless.
Why does part of me think we'll hear from Muslims who say it is an outrage, they are offended, it is blasphemous and death to the kuffar and so and so.
how many do you think you will hear from,

4, 5, 100, 20,000, 1million, 500 million?

Do you take the view of a few people as a representation of what the rest think? Are the people who assume this kind of thing JUST as stupid?

The stupid will also assume that this american nut represents all americans or christians.

Nah, god (one of them) knows he is. A few others are sitting on the fence, and 2 are on holiday. Split decision, so far.

One religion disagrees with the other so lets burn all their religious texts.

Of course it was the book that had something to do with 11/9...no wait...it was extremists.
Except it wouldn't have happened without that book.

All extremists are are folk who take religion to its logical extreme. "moderate" muslims are pussies tbh. Same for all the abrahamic religions.
It also wouldn't have happened if the Koran was taught as it is, rather than making up their own bits.

It took it beyond the logical extreme, by a long way.
Says who? There is no central islamic authority. I can claim the koran gives me authority to steal ice cream if I like, even if there's no reason for it. That's the best thing about religion, you can make it up as you go along.

But the extremists are more consistent smile
Says anyone who has read it.

You can claim the koran says what you like, it doesn't mean it is in it or true. It means you are making it up. That has nothing to do with the book, that is the fool reading it. In this case you with your ice cream biggrin

The number of people that make any kinda press coverage will be tiny, but they will rant and rave that someone bought their own book and burnt it etc.
The number of people who will be offended that we won't hear from will be much much greater. The number who will see this happening in America and develop ( even more ? ) hatred will be just as great and so and so on...
Think of the cartoons that insulted Islam not so long ago and the films made which ended up with some offended nutter killing Theo van Gogh. Both those had people all over the world calling for the usual whenever Islam is perceived to have been insulted.
Don't think of it as an attack by myself on Islam, the odd thing about all religions is believers seem to spend their lives permanently offended by anything other than praise for their beliefs.

These idiots have no idea. rolleyes I am encouraged by the outpouring of criticism that most other churches are heaping upon these clowns. I agree with his sentiments about following the Constitution and not trying to impose Sharia law while living here; however, these methods simply bring them down to the same level.

Of course it has something to do with the book. Without the book the religion wouldn't exist.

And who's to say that had Islam not existed, that some other religion wouldn't have occupied its place and given those who seek to attack the West common cause?

I can't tell if your username is ironic or not. smile

Thought I would read the article, got a couple of paras down and saw this: 'Dove World Outreach Church'

Now, if Dove is a symbol of peace, the world implies er, the world, and I seem to recal outreach would imply reaching out, then they've employed the wrong chap to head up their organisation.

Yea, that's us. One tiny church in Florida is the center of our universe. At least they are being pounded on by most other churches as well as general citizenry. Try not to sound like an idiot wink

Strange though, when one cleric or mad mullah in the Islamic world makes a similar outrageous statement/gesture and and countless uninformed, uneducated idiots agree with him those pesky Muslims are all out to get ya...

Same sh*t, different country.
That's one thing I love about the UK. We've kinda grown out of religeous hate mobs, for the most part

Can't have it both ways fella.

Absolutely true. Fortunately, that influnce extends to extremely few the desire to kill, maime, behead, or book burn against those who disagree.
