Whales trapped under sea ice in Canada...

A spokeswoman for the department told the CBC that icebreaker ships were "really busy with the ice conditions that we have in other regions of our country".

Too much ice, everywhere.
There was an article a few days ago about the US Coastguard changing plans and bringing forward some work on their largest icebreaker (which is over 30 years oldd and some years into a multi-year refit) so that they can deploy it for next year's winter.

Basically the tale was that they felt they did not have enough heavy icebreaking cover. Well, none actually.

A commenter with a green angle on things was quoted as saying that it was quite a good decision really as it weill provide the capacity to help open up the Arctic trading routes now that the sea ice is so much less of a problem for more of the year ...

Spinning faster than a top.

What he didn't say, surprisingly, was that all this additional shipping would be very bad for the pristine ecology of the arctic. Strange that. Sometimes what is not said is more informative than what is. Seems to me he just wanted to make and reinforce a point about the claims of permanently reduced sea ice.

There is spin overload in believerville at the moment following the NASA and UKMO capitulation over solar forcing, hot on the heels of IPCC AR5 handouts. It was transparent and semi-amusing before, it's totally hilarious now.

I don't enjoy any ride that means tens of thousands of people die due to the cold weather and their not being able to heat their homes due to a bull**t tax.
I've put that to Cameron and Clegg. No reply yet...
I put it to my local MP who by co-incidence is not only a beneficiary of some AGW companies but head of the "climate change committee"... He said he is not playing anymore.... BUT he did confirm that his private revenue stream did not affect his decisions at all.. Good to know.
If there's any justice, this crap will fall flat on its face.

At that point, you can write again and gloat over the bottom that just fell out of his world...hehe

Or put a dose of laxative in his coffee and the world will just fall out of his bottom. Possibly worth a gloat, and a wide berth.

To be frank I would like some of these people to have all their assets taken from them as "proceeds of crime" as that is how I view this situation. People are dying in their thousands because of lies, fraud and deceit

Some more oh I'm soooo worried about polar bears programme I'm watching now.

Its a good job I'm not playing a drinking game every time he says he's worried.

"climate change may be bad for polar bears" Well you scarring off all the seals in your boat while you are feeling worried and desperate to see 'your' polar bear wont be doing them any good either I'm sure it just loves the collar you've put round its neck as well.

I've often wondered why seals are considered to be disposables as far as the rampant growth in Polar Bear populations are concerned.

Yet, oddly, the little fluffy white ones that tend to get beaten about the head by "hunters" from time to time are considered non-disposable.

I suppose the rationale is that if they are removed from the food chain too early the PBs will starve, although I don't recall anyone ever making that claim publically.

People seem very selective in the way they view wild creatures.

I blame Disney.

Royal Sorcery caught up in it again.

I groaned as soon as I saw who the authors were!
Ehrlich eh?

Has he flipped back to predicting Ice Ages yet? (I really can't face the idea of reading that.)

They should just give him am "end of the world is nigh" sandwich board and let him parade up and down oxford street to get his jollies.
True but back at base in the Mad State of Insanity, known by the abbrevitation CA, he probably comes across as quite normal.

Cost of green subsidies will add £1 billion to family household bills

A source at the Department of Energy and Climate Change last night said a new regime had been put in place to review the solar subsidies every three months to check they were not too high. The source acknowledged that thousands of people had made windfall profits but blamed it on the legacy from the last Labour government.

Ed Miliband is responsible for plunging old people into energy poverty and killing many, then Labour elects him to lead it...

Is this the new Socialism..?

If Westminster were a hill, we could cement him into the ground, then it would have its very own folly.
