We have a Goodwood Breakfast Club track pass for the R8 (V8) on the 7th May. However next time we want to be in something much prettier and much, much quicker..... we are in the market for a 12C (coupe rather than spider).
Now I hear that McL owners are a friendly bunch - hopefully even towards lowly Audi drivers - and I have seen last year that plenty of you are in attendance at the Breakfast Club. So before we go to visit people like AB etc we would really like to understand a bit more about the 12C, beyond the reading already done.
So in exchange for a bacon butty and coffee (soo generous I know) is anyone up for showing us round your lovely 12C and discussing / showing us the things we have so far only read about - like swipe doors, the various options that cars may have, servicing and warranties and the joys and foibles of 12C ownership?
Looking forward to the 7th - thanks for the help guys.

Most are indeed a friendly bunch, I know of about 8/9 McOwners going to this event, with about 3 12C owners who will happily chat to you about their cars and ownership.

They will pop by here shortly no doubt. smile

Hi Martin,

download the buyers guide here for starters

http://www.mclarenowners.org.uk/

There should be a good few of us there, last time I think there were around 15 McLarens at the PH SS event, we even had our own car park area and lined up on the start finish line.

Happy to meet up and have a chat when there, just PM me for contact details.

I will be going and have a coupe that will potentially be going up for sale soon.

Wow.... thanks guys. PM's sent.
Have read through the buying guide, lots of the threads on here, various video's etc. etc. Now for the action! Really looking forward to seeing and getting to know the 12C a bit better and then seeking out the right car for us. Exciting times!
Anyone else going? Would be great to see a few different colours / interiors and the different carbon options.

If the usual McLaren turnout happens at Goodwood, you will get a great appreciation of the wide variety of colours and paint finishes available. Worthwhile as most photographs/images online do not do the cars justice. There are a lot of metallics which have way more depth than can be determined with a photo. Then of course there is the fastest McLaren colour available... Volcano Red! biggrin

My application seems to have been ignored! Has anyone else had an acceptance?

What happens if you turn up without a bit of paper? Are you consigned to the outer darkness?

I've got site access, but not grid access. you will have to park in a nearby field, i'm afraid.

OP here.

Thanks to Bispal and KP luring us in to the McLaren fold at Goodwood BC. Great to see and feel the cars and meet you guys for a chat, thanks to KP for the blast in your car on the way back!

Well it worked... following a good look round at available cars, including a visit to a very helpful Alistair Bols, we are now deposit paid on a VR Coupe with plenty of carbon and a swap to sports exhaust negotiated in.

Pictures to follow once we have the car, will be in a few weeks due to prep work and hols.

Cheers all
