inclined toward the Ryobi as i have a fair few of their tools so a good selection of batteries, likewise the Makita 18v batteries (but don't rate them)

happy to start with a new make though if the ryobi is crap (like their jig saw)

my chop saw and mitre saw are both dealt and love them but that doesn't necessarily transfer to better stuff..

anyone love theres?

I've got the Makita 18v circular saw and it's a lovely piece of kit. Light with a great cut.

Would recommend it and leagues ahead of some of the stuff I've had over the years.

i like their equipment but their batteries are a bit naff, from a quick look they still only do 3ah batteries in the 18v (bought my machete angle grinder 3yrs ago!) which wouldn't last long in a circular saw imo, what sort of usage time do you get with yours? (assuming they're only 3ah batteries)

assuming you have this one https://www.leroymerlin.fr/v3/p/produits/scie-circ...

Ryobi now do a 5ah battery which draws me tbh

Makita batteries are fine.

And they do 4ah and 5ah 18v.

Festool is pretty sweet but you'll pay for it.

6ah out now too!

Weve got approximately 20 18v makita tools from drivers to grinders and over 30batteries. Great tools for the money.

The circ saw is brilliant

I had many of the blue Ryobi tools and I found them to be pretty good. The problem with the circular saw was that unless you have a really good blade you will not cut very far

I find the yellow Ryobis to be inferior to the old blue stuff and I have shifted to Dewalt.

Night and day do difference

Just my experience..... some say Makita or blue Bosch. I don't rate green Bosch

You say no preference, but you're a Bosch fan right?

When i were a boy...

Working with my dad was always a stanley pump action afair, then these new fanfled battery drills were introduced eek

the transition from handheld screwdriver & brace n bit was mindblowing, AEG was the make (maybe the only). Still see it on the shelves down here, saw it yesterday while getting the makita, bought back a smile smile

Got a small makita as i want it for on roof, amazing offer at diy store, bought up cheapest offer available on phone while there and they matched it, 50% cheaper, saw with 4ah - £140 thumbup

I have that many hand tools guys but i'm only a team of one biggrin (if we're willy waving that is hehe) is it wrong they feel like new toys to play with? Well, maybe at the start of the day...

Added an electric ryobi mastic gun with the money saved, probably crap but only 50 euros and i have a very large amount of mastic to dispense so willing to give it a go.
