As well as being CEO of Microstrategy, which has already announced purchasing 38,250 bitcoins at $11,111.11, Michael Saylor has announced that he personally holds 17,732 bitcoins that he bought at an average of $9,882 ($175.2m)

I sold all of my Bitcoin last week, I had been waiting for it to cross the £10,000 mark. Not sure how much I made, certainly nothing significant, but decided there was not any point keeping it.

I feel like I learned a few things, for example I now make sure I set up MFA wherever I can.

I have some funds in Bitcoin tracker, up around 40% since I took it out.

However the FCA are banning this going forward :-

Having reviewed the FCA assessment, we’ve made the decision that from Friday 30 October you will no longer be able to purchase new units in the funds listed below.
You can continue to hold the units you already hold or sell them at any time.
Investment name
XBT Provider - Bitcoin Tracker Euro

What kind of investment wrapper is it in? A pension or ISA or something else?

Go on then, where is it going up to, and when?

If you believe this, have you remortgaged your house to buy as much as you can?

I ask as people seem to be far more cavalier with other people’s money than with their own.

Now you're being silly. I'm sure if you pick up the phone and speak to a fund manager earning £20M/year and ask him where the FTSE is going to be next month he won't have a clue and be correct and you ask me to give you a specific price along with a date.

Don't own a house so that option isn't available. What I can tell you is that I do have a good 5 figure sum of exposure to crypto assets.

The nature of the investment is perhaps more risky and it's your money to do as you wish of course. But saying that you're getting out because it's not going to progress much from here is silly in my opinion.

And the fund manager won’t make silly statements about what is the best inversement right now either. You can’t really make such a strong statement if you don’t have a view to back it up.

If you don’t have a target in mind, what then do you mean by saying that it’s the best investment around? Does the phrase mean anything at all? What makes it better than Berkshire Hathaway, to pick one example?

Of course a fund manager will have a view and tell you what he's exposing your money to. My view is as I said : "It's one of the best investments out there at the moment."

Do you want me to tell you £100k by ... and £1M by .... ?

It's one of the best investments around compared to FX, equities, classic cars, pokemon cards and any other investment vehicle you may opt for.

For a start, Berkshire Hathaway is down YTD and Btcoin has almost doubled.

Rather than looking at Berkshire Hathaway and the dinosaur Buffett, I'd be more inclined to consider what ARK Invest has to say about Bitcoin.

Who knows where the price will go but some interesting possibilities in this video which dissects the ARK report:

Way investment now means what it will do, not what it did in the past.

You seem remarkably reluctant to even explain what you mean by that term.

Best inflation hedge, best proxy for a broad index of indices, most stable, returns, smallest chance of crashing, highest chance of doubling this year.

Why can’t or won’t you explain what you mean by your statement?

Taking into account stability and performance - it is one of the best performing investments.

I'm not sure which part you are struggling with here.

Either way, you made the decision (rightly or wrongly) to cash in and your mind was made up about Bitcoin. There's little value in it for either of us for me to start projecting numbers from the air just so one of us can say "I told you so".

So you mean that it has been the best performing, up to now. That makes sense, but tells you absolutely nothing about whether it’s the best investment now, it’s saying that it was the best investment in the past.

Never understand why people feel the need to insult someone who has done so much so well with his life. W Buffet is a credit to his field and has done very well. I don't discount warren or Cathy and both are excellent in their fields. People act as if Warren doesn't invest in tech at all yet he does and a good chunk too. Even if he didn't I think it’s ridiculous to insult someone so accomplished; it’s akin to calling Cathy Woods from ARK a quack with fantasy of what the future will look like!
Let’s be respectful for all that have done well in their fields.

Ok, come back in 6 months and we'll talk about the past again wink
