I set up a ltd company for a contracting role last year, the terms didn't meet my needs so I stayed being an employee, but also have a private company. I toyed with chasing a few small contracts for part time but didn't really put a lot of work in and aren't really bothered. As such, I have no need for the company and plan to close it. However, my corporation tax request has arrived, do I just fill in CT600 with loads of zero's and then close the company, or do I have to submit reports to companies house as well, and then close. No money has come in or out of the company account.

I was planning to keep it open as my wife is setting up as a childminder, but to be honest, I suspect a ltd company is overkill for one person providing a few hours of care a week?

IANAA, but I think you should just be able to register to strike off your company...
