Robot Wars series 3 starts on sunday at 8pm. Hopefully even more carnage and destruction this year.

One of my mates who I have known for 39 years now is Gabriel running Sabretooth, he is in China at the moment filming the Chinese version, I think he is in series 3 though. He was in it a lot last yr.

Looking forward to seeing it on TV, it was an awesome experience seeing it getting filmed. Gabriel comes across as a cool guy on tv and his podcasts, great robot to!

He is a great bloke, we were each other's ushers at our respective weddings. I keep telling him that they are going to get him presenting soon.

Excellent final. How much punishment can Behemoth take? Please for the guy after 19 years.

The Sabretooth guy comes across as a bit of a knob tbh.

Yep. Didn't finish it.

New format. Fewer robots than last series?

Less waffle a positive.

Fog. Hmm, yeah great telly that.

Flippy things. Spinny things that don't work, and useless little things is not exciting not watch.

Sorry, forgot to mention that. I fast forwarded through most of it, in the hope of finding some interest but failed dismally. All the robots were st, no decent spinners and very little damage. Clusterbots were a waste of space.

I was so bored I nearly switched over to watch the F1.

Best to watch on iPlayer, about 15 mins of action crammed into an hour.

Fog, waste of time
Clusterbots, waste of time

Surprised Behemoth came back after his flounce last year, embarrassing on what is predominantly a kids show.

Unlucky for Apollo.

Why don't they just follow the Battlebots formula, much more entertaining.

Robot Wars has always been done differently to Battlebots, I enjoy them both but they each have their place. I like the made in a shed vibe of robot wars vs the battlebots go team america vibe.

Battlebots forumla requires much more money / competitors and time, I'd suggest the current format of Robot Wars is about as much as we can hope for based on past series.

A bigger field and more episodes would keep me happy and fix the arena!

Well

completely opposite from last weeks.... pretty good show I thought. They did have Carbide in there though and that one with the massive nylon wheels (what a bullet sponge that thing is). Also present; Eruption with that kid who desperately needs to get out more, but is genuinely quite a good roboteer/driver and Aftershock who also looked potent. The other robots weren't bad either. Big Nipper looked a bit weak at first but it proved itself to be a decent machine and well built.

There was another cluster bot. Yes it was rubbish. I just don't see the point other than being able to stay in the game by having too many objects to kill in the 3 minutes. Their reduced size and weight means that, individually, they get pushed about too easily by the full size machines and to boot, they can't affix weapons that will do anything meaningful either. Fodder... though I will say, better this week than last week as they only decided to have 2 robots.

Quite looking forward to that 10 - way fight in the final show. Some big hitters in there.

Last night's was a good one, the 10 way fight looks interesting with what's going in there so far.

Back in the day of ye olde Robot Wars, Gemini was pretty effective as a cluster bot, their flipper arms could throw stuff properly, and I think their driving was pretty good, helping each other out.

I agree, it was 100% better than last weeks, although I think it can still be improved. Forget the stupid gimmicks like house robots, flippers and fog, and give the teams more time to come up with better robots.

And I cringed at the the pitiful attempt to add suspense - "We still don't know who won." Yeah right. Carbide lost one corner of one tyre and Gabriel had both wheels mangled to fk. Now I wonder who won that fight? Uuummmm ...

Worth sitting through the naff bits though, just to see the cluster bot chucked out of the arena by a bot that didn't even have a flipper! And demolishing a light fitting on the way.

I think they might have to rethink the use of cluster-bots for audience safety. hehe

Thats more like what Robot wars should be like!

The Arena seems to be getting as battered as the robots! Ive never seen an arena light get taken out before.
