Agreed - just looks like another basket case AIM share to me. <£7m market cap.
This thread is mostly about AIM gambles to be honest.
Yep, but after years of loosing money on basket case Aim gambles I know this one won't let me down smile

US tech stocks keep climbing. All seem to be up another couple of percent today. Anyone know why?
The US stock market saw Trump leave the country, and they’re all in great hope that he’ll never return again?

No. Not really. Just sentiment, I think.

Every so often one of the US tech stocks takes a tumble, e.g. Facebook recently, then once everything settles down again, they restart their (mostly) relentless climb. I have had a regular contribution going into the Legal & General Global Technology Index since 2014, and its showing an 82%+ gain. Its main shareholdings are Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Facebook, Intel, Cisco Systems etc. I probably wouldn't buy any of them individually, but as parts of a managed fund, and particularly on a regular purchase, so the highs and lows average out, I'm happy enough.

Is it not that when you look at AIM stocks almost none of them are good long termers, and are best as short term bets if you are that way inclined?

Potentially nothing much more than everyone seeing the negative headlines, recession should come soon etc, which means everyone is pretty pessimistic. The obvious bet is for stocks to go down. Therefore prices go up, biggrin

Its far more likely that an AIM company can double in size and turnover in a year or two, than a FTSE100 company. You need to be ready for a few beatings when you play in AIM, however the likes of Fevertree, Hutchinson China Meditech & Burford Capital make it worthwhile for me. Of course you get the Quindells and such like, so do your own research and don't put all your eggs in one basket.

A year or two is not long term in stock investments though. I have made money in a few AIM like companies here, over several months. But that is not long term.

Radio 4 have a piece on now about hypersonic flight. Guy is from a company called Sabre - not sure about spelling - talking about the engines they're designing to do this. Sounds interesting to me and could be worth a punt.

After initially being quite excited about PHE I did quite a bit of research and changed my view. Really can’t see it.

I agree, I'm not invested, I was just making a joke.

If you don’t have a sense of humour when amateur share investing, you’ll be tanning your wrists sooner or later.

70% up on Amazon, in what, a week or so? On a CFD with 10x leverage. Debating whether to cash out or see it through the ER.
One of those times when you wish you had put £100k on it instead of 10k.
It just doesn't seem to stop rising, 5% a day on a x10 position. But, it could drop dead at any time...

How does one do this leveraged CFD thing please?

Amzn - sitting on a nice profit too. Nearly sold this morning at $1800 after the website glitch (can't imagine that won't impact ER?), and hearing a lot of chatter about boycottamazon and how prime is not what it used to be. Ended up not selling and now 1.4% up again. Nuts, I posted $200 ago how it felt like roulette but hey ho it seems to have solid support.

On a site like Etoro - but beware, using 10x leverage means that if the share drops, your CFD drops 10x as much as well! And new regs coming in at the end of the month are going to limit the leverage to a max of 5%.
But any existing positions won't be affected, so I'm going to hang on to Amazon at 10x as long as possible!
