New to the forums guys, just acquired a 675LT after having a very early 12C some years ago. Fitted with Trofeo R's, coming to the end of life-any advice on tyre choices please?

thanks in advance, Gary

Hi, really depends on your intended use of the car, being primarily a track focused car I'm assuming you will use on track a fair bit which means either Trofeo or Michelin Cup 2, if your going to use on the road then the new Michelin super sport 4 I think they are called get a good shout for all round use.

Cup2s, much better wearing than trofeos, if not quite as quick early in the life of the tyre will maintain it's performance much longer.

My 675LT has had its Trofeos replaced with P Zeros before I bought it. Given the UK weather, it had always felt relatively sure footed on wet roads and conditions are rarely that certain that you can guarantee no rain! My Caterham CSR 260 is much more exciting in wet...

Michelin Cup for fast road / track
Michelin PS4S for mainly road use

Specced my 675 LT Spider with P Zeros as it won't be used much on track. Mistake.

it spins the wheels through 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear as the PZs don't have anywhere near enough grip for the torque even on a warm day.

Will be going Trofeo or equivalent at the next change, its not as though the car gets used in the wet anyway.

I also spec'd my 675LT Spider with the P Zeros as it will see limited track time but have not had issues with wheel spin. Key is making sure you get heat into them before pushing. Just posted an article on karenable.com on using the 675LT Spider up in the mountains.
