Morning All,

As the title would suggest, I would welcome any advice on how to fit a Mountain Bike into a Vantage.

I suspect size of frame may be a limiting factor, but would be grateful to hear from those that have managed this.

I could use another car but there are those sunny days when I want use the AM smile

Thanks

Dave

I'd be very surprised if you could fit one in without a lot dismantling, something like this has got to be the best solution, but still not sure how much I'd trust it. scratchchin

front wheel off and take bars off stem and turn them and lay on a blanket, fold over blanket and front wheel on top would be only way if I had to try

I can't remember what the thread was, but there is a thread on here with pictures of a bike in a Vantage - maybe about a year ago.

I suspect a mountain bike would be super tight but worth a go...

Seasucker is great, I trust my £8k bike on top of my gt3 with it.

Worth checking if the Vantage roof is load bearing, I have a feeling maybe not?!

Love this.

The sucker system looks great but I dont know I could cope with the anxiety and stress of knowing the potential disaster waiting to unfold. Will be keeping bikes well away from my aston after recent events.

there is a company doing bike carriers for Roadsters now....found in recently whilst doing some research, then decided I need more space for kit in the car too.

Im sure there are a number of boot mounted solutions you could use.....

Thanks guys, There does seem to be some interesting workarounds. The Seasucker does look aesthetically pleasing, but I would constantly worry about a failure. Will try wheels off, Seat-post down as suggested and see if I can manouver it in. If I have to do too much phaffing, like taking handlebars off as well then I'll just take the 4x4 smile

Will keep you posted

Here’s my road bike in the Vantage. My mountain bike is normally completely covered in st so it gets transported in the Defender. Will definitely fit if you take the wheels, seatpost and pedals off.

Interesting. Looks to be a very tight fit.

Separately, in case anyone wonder, I can confirm that skis do not fit.

And I can confirm that skis do fit! 181cm ones too so not short. Granted I had to put a towel on the dash but it worked.

Mine are 178 and I couldn't get them in, but I was trying with one end down in the boot. So did you fit them with toes resting on the dash and tips on the rear bulkhead?

Not sure this helps much, but I once fitted my Uncle Norman into my Vantage, and he's fking massive.

Yep, exactly. Wouldn’t drive to the alps like that but useful for a short drive to the airport.

Did you get him out or is he still in there? How did he affect the handling?

They had to remove his head and legs and managed to squeeze him in .
What some people will go through to get a ride in an Aston.
If only he'd waited for the DBX he'd still be with us.
