Seems silly to have to ask for help this, I would have thought there were loads of good easily findable options, but beleive me I've tried finding them!

I've a few funds (Vanguard and HSBC) I've invested in my stocks and shares ISA, and I'd love to have an app that I could use to quickly see how the portfolio and funds are doing.

I used to use Google portfolio, but they shut that down, and so figured I could relplicate what it did with an App, but I'm struggling to find one. I want to be able to open it without using a password too, so I can quickly glance at it, I don't need to manage funds, just see their performance.

Does anyone use anything they'd recommend for android?

Am I being an idiot and missing out on obvious functionality I've already got? I've tried using stock trackers etc.. But the funds I've got (e.G. Vanguard ftse tracker) don't appear on stock trackers, unless I'm using the wrong search strings?

Anyway, I'd have thought this would be really easy, Google portfolio was a dream, but I'm struggling to replace it.

I thought PH would be the place to ask!!!

Thanks all.

I'd be interested in this too. I used to use the SharePrice app (owned by iii) that showed your investments, your book cost, current valuation and profit etc. You could also set up potential portfolios of shares you wanted to keep a track of.
But then they killed that, and I haven't found a good replacement since.

Is an ordinary spreadsheet of no use to you?

I have used the same one for 25 years, and it has coped with all the various corporate events, which might have been expected to cause problems.

I accept that you probably want the whole process to be automated, whereas I do have to manually feed in share prices at the end of each business week. It only takes about 10 minutes though, and is a good way of keeping in close touch with what is going on. I must not mention names, but on more than one occasion whilst entering prices, it has become clear that the website is displaying incorrect prices. You would not spot that with an automated system.

The downside of course is the time needed to prepare a spreadsheet, to meet your own requirements. However, if you are going to be an investor for a long time, that evens out.

Another aspect which may or may not be important to you, is that your own affairs remain private and entirely within your own control.

Like Jon and with the help of some others on here I now have a spreadsheet but I also use the "my portfolio" bit of ft.com for most of the equities and funds and I find that pretty good. Ive moved about a bit so there's a bunch of other stuff that the ft app wont cope with (aussie superannuation, crowdfunded investments, that sort of thing) so I update that via the spreadsheet approximately monthly.

They’ve managed to make the updated Stocks app on the iPhone worse with the new software update.

You used to be able to click on a share and see all the news articles relevant to that share. They’ve now got rid of that and you have a general 3 articles covering everything at the bottom. Rubbish!

I track my portfolio on the Trustnet website but I don’t think they have an app.

You can use Google Sheets (their cloudy spreadsheet).
It has live share price updates (not all shares and sometimes intermittent) or you can strip prices from other websites.

It's available on PCs, Android and IOS

Happy to email my sheet (set up to look like the old Google Portfolio) to anyone that would like it.

I’m guessing, just a rough shot in the dark here, because he’d like to be able to see how his portfolio and funds are doing when he wants.

I use MSN money app.

HL have a watch list as well but I think you need an account with them, maybe not.

I use 'my stocks portfolio and widget' by peeksoft. Available from play store free.

I tried a few and this is the best I've found in terms of displaying the stocks I have (some apps don't display some of the random AIM companies) and general ease of use, screen layout etc

Share prices are delayed 15 minutes with this app but that is common and makes little difference to monitoring a portfolio.

I'm not sure of the upside of checking funds frequently.
