2017 CLS - quick question re sunroof

I was at a dealership yesterday poking about a CLS Shooting Brake that caught my eye. It has the premium pack meaning it gets a sunroof - not panoramic - just 'traditional' style.
It slides fine - retracted and closed fully with no problems - but wouldn't tilt (I assume you push the same button in the direction as you would to close it to then tilt it?), the sales chap stated that they don't tilt, but this doesn't sound right - can anyone confirm?
I may buy the car so if something is amiss I'd like to get them to acknowledge it and sort it.

Have just checked the instruction manual which shows the roof button will open, raise, close & lower the sunroof just as you expect.
Sounds like there's an issue.
p.s. sunroof on the CLS robs you of headroom and can be prone to leakage, so think carefully whether you really want one or not.

Thanks guys, sounds like something needs reset or fixed then.
Headroom still seems ok, Im 5' 10" so not the tallest, and I have an irrational desire for a car with a sunroof, will just need to make sure I keep the drains clear and the seals looked after - as an ex-MX5 owner Im well practised.

As others have said it should tilt and slide. I’m 6’1” and have no problem with the sunroof - 2015 Shooting Brake with premium pack. Yip, tilts and slides, its a 3 way switch, back and forth but also up and down - really f
king obvious when it was point out to us.
Sales chap didnt know either, took a bloke in a polo shirt emblazoned with 'product expert' to demonstrate that we were simpletons.

Congratulations - these are really great cars and amazing value.
The shooting brake to my eyes is one of the best looking estates commonly available and really shows off the CLS at its best. The post 65 plate facelift being the one to go for. At 2017 you will have Apple car play too.
Which engine and internal/external colours?
Airmatic - the air suspension all around is a big improvement over the standard suspension and the driver aids package is also nice.
I've found mine to be a real mile eater on motorways and good fun on twisty roads too considering the bulk of it.

I’m on my second CLS Shooting Brake...went from a 2012 350d to a 2015 63AMG and I have loved them both equally. Have considered various replacements from a new E63 to a Panamera Sportbrake but nothing has the same blend of practicality and style. The sunroof is not at risk of leaking as far as I’m aware...have never given mine any special attention and no issues. Great car, hope you enjoy owning it!!

I'd had an S212 E220 CDI estate for coming up 5 years, loved it and was struggling with what to replace it with. I started looking at a nearly-new S213 version of exactly the same car, but there were a few things I didn't like - the half leather/half suede seats, the matt black wood looked cheap to me, and whilst the dash felt more modern it seemed a downward step in quality from the 212 (just like the 212 did from my old 211). e.g. dash and door trim seemed to flex and creak if you prodded and poked at it.
They weren't on my radar initially, but a CLS 220d Premium Shooting Brake popped up locally, just over a year old with only 8k miles on it, around half list price from new. Went to see it and it was immaculate, 30 mins later a deal was done.
Yes, I'd have loved the 350 engine, but I wasn't in the market to spend that kind of money. I wanted a replacement for the outgoing car, and the way I see it I've got a new car that looks stunning externally, feels nicer inside, rides and steers as well if not better, is nearly as practical, with a few extra toys (memory seats, sunroof, reversing camera) and was stonking value.
After previously owning cars with black paint and light coloured interiors and trying to keep them looking clean, I specifically wanted silver paint and black leather. Whilst some will consider it dull it's exactly what I wanted, and the sunroof helps brighten up the interior. I much prefer the black ash wood dash trim to the silver I had on the E-Class. I'm not the greatest fan of the 'ipad on the dash' infotainment screen, but then it doesn't bother me either.
It's the first time in a while I've found myself parking up my car and looking back admiringly at it.

What must someone be driving if they look at that and think it's dull!!!!Mercedes have taken their best looking saloon and made it look even more sleek.
I don't think there is a colour I don't like these in.

More to do with the colour, for a long time silver with black leather seemed to be considered the 'safe resale' choice, but I think white and black seem to have taken up that mantle now. I do like black, I just can't be arsed with water spots, swirl-marks etc, they never seem to look clean for long.Mercedes have taken their best looking saloon and made it look even more sleek.

t 24 hours later. I ended up spending a whole load of money at AutoCurators to get the paint up to snuff and ceramic coated. £600 but totally worth it for the transformation and the fact I don't need to clean it that often.Silver is a good choice on the CLS, it shows off the curves well while making the car seem less chubby than in red or blue.

Yup, sunroof just push the button into the roof lining. I doubt there is anything wrong with it, just user error and crap product knowledge salesman.
I have a shooting brake 2017 so yes, it does indeed tilt and slide.
