Odd one this, and i don't think there's much i can do to change it. My Husky is now six years old and when we first got her she cocked her leg to have a pee, which i thought was rather odd, and what's even odder is she cocks up the wrong leg against whatever she's peeing against, which for laughs never gets old!
Anyway, here's the problem, her peeing has now developed into a rear squat 'and' one of her legs is up off the ground at the same time??
Over time, looking at this i'm thinking this must put a helluva stress on her rear quarters, lower spine area? Sometimes, but very rarely she'll unsurprisingly to me, get a cramp jyst after a pee in the leg she has been lifting up, i mean, can you imagine squatting down yourself and cocking up one leg? Just looks so unnatural and awkward for her, can't think what to do?
Sometimes if she jumps off the sofa, or when she's twisting getting up she'll give a little squeal? Running etc she seems to be fine though.
Should i worry about it?

One of my dogs is a rescue female GSD and she does exactly this (not the wrong leg thing! She squats and lifts a leg). Never seen a female dog do that before. I haven't had any concerns about any physical stress on her, it just looks odd! She doesn't always do it.

No.

My Lab/CollieX does exactly the same, sometimes she's in so much of a hurry she hops along on one leg whilst performing!

Our first collie did this too.

our collie cross also sometimes does this but also suffers occasionally from what appears to be cramp in the leg. been looked at several times by the vet and no problem found

Never you mind

My Spaniel does this. Squats and lefts her left leg. Dunno why, it looks odd though.

Better than my lab who is 10, he just stands there and doesn't squat or lefts a leg.

My friends dog does a handstand. She literally lifts both back legs up to pee.

Wouldn't be a poodle type by any chance? They do some odd things!
