My girlfriend went shopping to Longmoor lane co-op and came home in a frantic state saying she had run a red light, i have the dash cam footage here and i cant quite make it out so looking for some re assurance so she can rest easy. the dash cam has a radar scanner in so i think that is what frightened her.

She seems to think that the light on the junction as she was turning with the crossing was for her 😂

What red light.

Leaving co op it's amber.

Turning right it's the red light for the road on the left.

Where does she think her stop line was if that light was for her?

Definitely didn't run a red, as others have said, that red was for traffic from the junction to the left.

If she kept up with the flow of traffic etc etc.

All of the above. Leave a gap like that at a changing light in Bristol and you would get beeped at too laugh

Hey man, just an idea, but maybe turn the radar detector off if she's only been driving a month? I get the dashcam being useful, but any unexpected noises/surprises for a brand new driver who is already probably nervous is a recipe for bad times.

She had already passed the stop line when the lights went to amber so its ok for her to continue.

she left a sensible gap whilst waiting at the lights and the car in front, looks like she is doing things right. Good on her.

If its the one at 1.58 no problem. The lights she passed before turning right has a green filter, not a red stop, so if the road is clear she can turn before the green filter coming on.

The red would be for those waiting at Highgate Lane to cross.

Definitely, chuck it away. No red lights were crossed in the making of this film. I assume that the trill sound is the radar detector picking up the red light for the traffic running ACROSS the road she turned right at. From what I can see this is NOT an issue at all. Get rid, I can see a situation where she will stamp on the brake at situations like this, and get rear-ended.
