That's not new, Ford have been doing that for the Connect ever since they started selling it in America, even the article says they've been doing it for years.

If there's a cheaper way of doing it, they'll do it.

Yes, I know that. It was called KD (knock-down) way back. We built the vehicles, then dis-assembled them to export them, to re-build them in the target export market.
