Hi firstly apologies if this is in the wrong place! Ive bought my old Clio 197 back after a year and the guy didnt use it much and due to a faulty boot seal it has a puddle in the boot and the seats are damp and it smells like a dead wet dog inside. Boot seals been ordered so now best way to fix this? Dehumidifier maybe? Thanks!

If there's anything you need to apologise about it's for using the word Moist.....

New seats would be nice too.

New carpets and mats if you willing to splash money

Sure it's the boot seal? I'd suggest it's a 50/50 toss up between the boot seal and the aerial seal on the roof.

As long as there is no mold, dehumidifier should do the trick.

I had a blocked front scuttle drain and a flooded floor in the past. I lifted all the carpets and let it dry for a couple of weeks in the sun (I was lucky it happened in the summer). De-humidifier and some fabric spray later, and it was fine.

But with your seats being soaked and already smelling, I;m not sure if this would be enough.

If it has had standing water in it you could be looking at major bodywork corrosion and corrosion related electrical issue in future. Consider whether you would be better off passing the hot potato to somebody else.
