They'll have also dropped a cookie / fb / Google tracking scripts and captured ip.

Well given it's not a pyramid scheme of any description (pyramid marketing for signups does not a pyramid scheme make), and that my name and email address aren't things that couldn't be found in any number of other places, I'll take my chances.

Perhaps not one for the tin foil hat brigade though, as you suggest.
