Assetto Corsa Competitzione
Discussion
I've been watching Chris Haye's youtube videos on this, really like his channel as it's really well produced and he talks like a human being not a youtuber, anyway, it does look like AC but more focused, the graphics are pretty impressive and the sound has improved from AC.
I've not been doing much sim racing recently, and there's so much good content being created for AC still that I probably won't dip in to ACC any time soon to be honest, but it certainly looks like a lot of progress has been made.

I agree, Assetto corsa has a lot of life in it yet.
I'm a bit of a wierdo as I really don't enjoy online gaming, plus with 2 young kids I need to be able to pause the game whenever needed. I bought AC:C because it was cheap (£14 or so), and based on what I have seen so far, I'm pretty impressed. I suspect that with this being a GT3 sim, there will be limited content in the finished release compare to Assetto corsa, P.Cars etc.
I have shifted over to Project cars 2 at the moment, just progressing through the races, although I am really not a fan of the physics model used.

I recently picked up vanilla Assetto Corsa but, I just can't seem to get the FFB to something I'm happy with. I've recently been using the FFB Clip app but, it just feels fake and unnatural. I often hear people waxing lyrical about AC and how great it feels but, I'm pretty underwhelmed so far.
By Contrast, PCars 2 with the Jack Spade tweaker files and individual volume/gain settings for each car usually feel absolutely spot on. (conkerman, i highly recommend these if you're on PC - they're a real game changer)
Any tips on setting up the FFB would be gratefully received.
ACC does look amazing but, until I get AC to feel good, I'm a little hesitant to buy it in case it is just more of the same.

I'll post my Assetto Corsa FFB settings later.
There is a huge amount of community created content for AC on race department. In fact I may get a couple of cheeky laps in on the IoM TT course later.
Awesome, thanks, hopefully they'll work for me too. What wheel do you use? There is a huge amount of community created content for AC on race department. In fact I may get a couple of cheeky laps in on the IoM TT course later.
Agreed, the additional content and the apps available on Race department are great. I hear there is an app where you can add oncoming traffic to road layouts, which sounds like fun

I think it's crap. The cars have a deeply weird pendulum effects at low speeds that bears no resemblance to how a real car would act. And most of them seem to bog in a way no real car does. The UI is also unusable at 4k for me at least. I'm glad I paid peanuts for it though I would prefer to have gotten my money back.
I'm using a Logitech G25 and haven't touched any of the FFB settings in AC, just left it at default.
There's also some settings you can tweak in the Logitech Profiler, I think I just turned off any effects in that, but it's been years so I can't remember to be honest.
I find the FFB in AC to be excellent and very communicative, especially once you've dialled in to it. For me the most natural / real feeling is still Live For Speed, but that just doesn't have any content
I've played PC2 on a G25 at my neighbour's and although I could drive adequately from the off, I found there just wasn't any sensation of the rear moving about through the wheel, but then I didn't tweak any settings of spend more than about an hour playing it (naturally going straight for the Sierra DTM car )

I may be looking back through rose tinted glasses but, I loved my G25. If I'd known I was going to migrate from console to PC, I'd still be using it now! There's also some settings you can tweak in the Logitech Profiler, I think I just turned off any effects in that, but it's been years so I can't remember to be honest.
