i was indeed getting mixed up - yes did realise with ISA there is no CGT/Tax but thank you for confirming and also no charges for switching Isa within IM from one to another. Im keen to keep the ISA as an index 60 or 40 for a bit then go into the optimum defensive longer term.

Yes GIA was also in the back of my mind as thats our next step but after getting the ISA moved to IM and was pre-thinking and typed before brain was engaged ! haha.

hehe

No problem and just to clarify, you can move between Optimum (and within Optimum), Index (and within Index) and PH Equity within each account (ISA, Pension/SIPP and GIA) whenever you like at no fee whatsoever.

This is not just a PH thing, it apples to all of our Private Clients.

Hi superlightr

Yes, just a feed freak that has now been quickly restored having been brought to our attention (thank you once again Jackals).

All IM Index portfolios (and PH Equity) are actually up on the day.

IM Optimum has had to be reset back to the 15th in order to be properly repopulated (give it a hour or so).

I personally apologies for any concern this has caused and hope that our speed of action in putting this software glitch right gives some measure of reassurance that we are not complete idiots rolleyes and that when things go wrong (as they sometimes do) we are quick to put them right and take it firmly on the chin rather than try to blame others.

no worries from me at all. as mentioned your on the case with it. Running my own business I know how it feels despite all best planning and effort - you get Doh! moments.

smile

We had a major work issue on a Friday 5.30pm when I was about to fly off that night on family hols for 2 weeks - despite all planning and checking and a redundancy in place and then testing x wont happen - it still did. fek me. anyway its how its resolved and open about it as you know im sure is the key.

Thanks mate. It is always embarrassing when there is a data problem and even when that is not our fault we are the one delivering it, so we have to take full responsibility if we deliver the wrong thing. At least we fixed this very quickly when we knew about it.

I appreciate your understanding and can totally relate to your own experiences! thumbup

Cheers

The above is a lesson on how to run a successful, responsible and transparent Enterprise!

Most impressed!

On a personal note - and with the full acceptance that markets are volatile- I'd like to tell you that a LOT of the worry my better-half and I had about our fiscal future has dissipated. This is very much due to our relatively new arrangements with IM. Thanks Nik, Julian and Team. We are sleeping a great deal better and look forward to adding the next tranche...

Disclaimer - The level of our appreciation may go down as well as up and you may not receive further plaudits if you balls it up. wink

Thank you Al.

Things do sometimes go wrong, that is a fact of life. Sorting them out quickly is a test and measure of responsibility.

If we mess up, or (as in this case) we pass on messed up data, then I consider we are 100% responsible and need to fix things ASAP.

I am very happy (and that is a massive understatement) to hear that we have helped and assisted you in such a way. That is always our aim, so it is fantastic to hear it first hand.

Nik and I (and the team behind us) remain on hand whenever you need us, or simply when you want to chat over anything and throw ideas around.

Cheers

That reminds me of a distant time when I was writing investment guides for the Telegraph (we are talking 20 years ago)

Covering what was then called Aberdeen Technology I wrote "The value of your investment can fall as well as plummet"! biggrin

Not one person picked up on it and I ended up having to edit it back (quietly) myself!!

I will do my very best to ensure your level of appreciation and plaudits only goes up! smile

Cheers

Probs need a separate thread to the IM one for your question.

Unless you are asking of Nik would travel to Cheshire for a chat (*not* advice wink)

First update, there is a system bug whereby the latest data feed is showing the book value (the value at the end of the first trading day of investment) rather than the current value.

This, ironically, shows you the growth you have received to date, though as a minus number (so your 6% fall in IM Index 100 and my 7%+ fall in PH Equity is actually the growth we have received).

I am quite happy to learn that I did not lose a serious amount of money over the last 24 hours (though running this I knew that anyway and that it must have been a data feed error) and am still up 7%+ over 8 weeks.

We have put up a warning message for all clients on this and are removing yesterdays figures (this should be done in the next 20 minutes) before uploading the correct data.

Serious apologies for anyone this has spooked. Technology eh? Isn't it great. frown

Thank you once again Jackals for bringing this glitch to my/our attention.
Thanks Julian

Hi Julian

I have two visible contributions, an initial lump sum (Single frequency, BACS) and an ongoing monthly Direct Debit

For the life of me I can't find the bank details I need to pay the lump sum into? It's scheduled for 1st Feb, but figured I have some time now so would rather just send the payment now if possible? Where should I be looking?

Have a chat with Nik. You may or may not need to pay a financial adviser.

Hi B9

If you have set up a DD then this should be automatically taken every month/quarter/half year/year, as you instructed.

Please contact either Nik or myself and we will fix this for you, with a redacted version posted here for others.

Cheers

Julian

Hi Dave

Thank you for thinking of us with this.

With regard to any potential benefits from your existing schemes then it is certainly worth your whilst getting in touch with Nik (nik.burrows@intelligentmoney.com) who will be able to let you know exactly what these are before you consider a switch (there is no charge for this, regardless of the outcome).

You do not need to use (or pay) a financial adviser first, or at any point.

Moving them over is all online and take just a few minutes. Yes, you simply put in the details you mentioned and we do all of the rest.

Please give me a shout if there is anything else and pop Nik a quick message if you would like an evaluation before switching.

Cheers

Julian

Hi All

Every PHer Private Client should have now received an email from Nik regarding the VIP hospitality tickets for the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

As you might expect, places are being snapped up so please get back to him (or PM me) to ensure your place at your selected venue is reserved.

We are also working on the basis that people wish to attend both days each weekend. If this is not the case please let us know and we can allocate the free day to someone else.

Cheers

Julian
