Cheers, wasn't sure you would have investment plans with that sort of yield for the "smaller" amounts, i know often its a 100k kick-off.

Any chance you could email me some info on those two and we can have a chat, at those returns i may look at doing some top-up too, will give you a shout as soon as the dosh is in the bank!
I'll send you an email this morning, but for others here reading this, the investment returns as a percentage are identical regardless of the size of the investment.

As I have said before, past performance can be a good way to compare the value different providers have been able to deliver with similar approaches over the same time periods, but in no guarantee of future returns.

Part of the very nature with investing is that you will see falls as well as rises. Our job, with IM Optimum, is to maximise the rises whilst minimising the falls through great diversity.

PH Equity does the same, but though a very different approach by holding a small concentrated portfolio of global brands that can remain in favour (or even become more favourable) during market downturns.

If you are happy to just ride the markets we also offer IM Index, but this will show increased volatility along the way when compared to IM Optimum.

I'd just like to say thanks Justin, this thread is fantastic and I've been reading it avidly alongside other bits and pieces. Very interesting and educational. Top work

Hi Jim, that is very kind of you to say.

We have covered pretty much every investment subject over nearly 100 pages and I am always glad to hear when people have found this useful.

What we really could do with now is a search facility! smile

Cheers

Julian

Think an FAQ section would be handy.

All fine and well being the ideas guy I know as it would take a lot of work but answers to FAQs could reference previous examples pulled from this thread.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Extrapolate all of the questions and answers, tag them relevant key words and deliver the search results based in order of relevance.

Until we can get to this point we are more than happy to answer any questions that have already been covered to save people having to go through 2,000 posts to find something!

biggrin

Finally sent the email to Nik regarding our two girls Junior ISA's and moving towards your platform (hopefully)

Two questions

If we do move across, do you have any tickets for the Racing left? (its a long shot I know) possibly for myself and my car loving now retired father?

Secondly, I have 10K in an H&L ISA across 4 funds - Vanguard 60%, Vanguard Passive Tracker, Fundsmith and Lindsell Train

If with the April deadline coming up, I wanted to invest thereafter in your platform and fund strategies for that specific year ie April 2020 to March 2021... I could I just open up an ISA account with yourselfs, focus on investing with you for a year and leave the H&L alone until (if I do April 2021).

I hope that makes sense, so technically having 2 ISA accounts but not touching one for a year. Is that how it works?

Hi Kingdom35

I can sort out some tickets for you whether you join us or not! smile

Which race do you fancy going to?

You can open an ISA with a different provider every tax year whilst leaving the others where they are, so yes is the short answer to this question.

Please just shout with anything else.

Cheers

Julian

Hi Julian

Thank you for the speedy response. I thought this was the case as I did read something along those lines. Thanks for confirming.

I will do this thanks.

As for the tickets, wow, thank you, that's really kind. Ive just looked at the GP Calendar again.

I think the 3 options we would be available for are Snetterton - 16th/17th May, Silverstone June 6/7th and Brands Hatch Aug 29/30.

If you can let me know which circuits out of those 3 you still have tickets for that would be great.

Thank you again, we will look forward to that as ive already bought him Goodwood Festival of Speed tickets and a Track Day for his Retirement :-)

Thanks again and il be in contact around April with regards to my side of the ISA situation. Ive sent the email to Nik so hopefully when he has time (as im sure hes inundated with requests) he will reply back as I notice hes in Dubai at the moment

Have a great day

Hi Kingdom35

Just let me know which one of these suits you best and I'll get you and your Dad booked in.

They are all over subscribed so we are getting additional tickets anyway, so it really doesn't matter which one!

Cheers

Hi Julian

Ok I will discuss with him which one he would prefer. Thank you very much once again. Do I need to send you a PM with address details?

Thanks

That would be rather helpful! wink

I trust you will both enjoy the race weekend. Saturday gives you both full access to the VIP paddock and Sunday is the full hospitality day with breakfast in the VIP paddock with the drivers, pit lane tour and grid walk.

So if you want to make it a day rather than a weekend then Sunday is the day to go for. Alternatively, we have had confirmation that your passes will allow you to take different guests on different days.

It sounds like you have a good year of racing events planned with your Dad, which is brilliant! biggrin
