Call me stupid but do I need to also make a payment from my bank account as well as set this instruction up in IM or should have this BACS instruction in IM requested my bank to send the cash?
Hi Stuart

When you set up a BACS payment you need to instruct your bank to make it.

You can ask us to take payment, but the banking process delays this and therefore it cannot be the same day.

We can do this for you, but it costs us over 1% in merchant fees (hence why we normally have an inital charge).

I can make the payment for you (but only into a GIA, not your ISA) if you like. We can sort the transfer out later.

Cheers

Yes given that I'm 100% in PH Recovery, I have a completely brown ring and its disconcerting to look at that first thing in the morning.
I would suggest a shower! hehe

Hi mate.

All cleared cash went over this morning and the same will happen every day we have cleared funds.

Hi Julian

Where the holding transactions all show as pending, does this mean they're buying at tonight's close price?
Hi B9

If it is cash, then yes (or perhaphs even tomorrow morning).

I will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what (including mine) hit the markets today.

If it is a transfer, we are dependent on the underlying fund managers and this could take up to 5 days.

Give Nik or I a shout and we can be more precise.

Cheers

I’ve still got pending transfers from my IM cash fund dating back to 29th June. I’m a bit confused as to why others are seeing much faster transfers?

Could just be mine but the 'show details' button on switch/withdrawals tab at the bottom only flashes open (rather than staying open so you can read it!)

We have this small issue too, but only on some of our accounts

Hi Julian. I'm on board with PH Recovery too. Well, have submitted the request on the IM site so funds should transfer over in the next week or so. Also transferring same amount into IM Optimum Defensive as my bank savings were earning basically nothing so seemed sensible. Good luck everyone!
Hi Davey

Welcome on board as part of the PH Recovery gang. No pressure!

IM Optimum Defensive has behaved incredibly well thought this (and previous years) and my intention is to keep it that way!

PH Recovery is far more of a punt, but has huge potential.

Our reputation is at stake on this, so you can be assured you have our full attention (and my own money is in there as well).

Speaking of being on board, have a listen to this:

If it is not your taste, then fair enough, but I have loved it for years!

Yes you do. It did seem a bit strange to me. Need to set up the instruction on IM website to get the account number and importantly the reference number....then need to go and send a bank transfer citing said reference number.

All worked fine for me but would have felt more confidence if a simple debit card payment could have been made similar to how i'd fund other investments elsewhere.

Hi RIck

We can take Debit Card payments, but we can't do so at no initial charge, as we have to pay the merchant fee for them.

This is why we removed this as an option when we offered PHers no initial charge.

We always are completely clear when it come to charges and there is nothing hidden (we pay all costs and recoup them over time from the annual charge).

Cheers

Might have missed it, what are we talking about as a minimum investment in PH Recovery?

To clarify, is PH Recovery something I could use some of this years ISA allowance for? I'm particularly thinking that there was talk a few pages back (I think) about it being a short-term thing, though I must admit I'm a bit behind with the thread.

Hi Droopsnoot,

You can use some of this years ISA allowance for PH Recovery. As the stocks held in the portfolio reach their target value they will be sold to cash. At that point you can switch this cash element to any of our other Portfolios and this will remain within your ISA. So while the portfolio may run its course your funds can still be held within your ISA.

Nik

Hi Julian

I have full trust in yourself, Nik and the team. Was just about to press 100% transfer to plan for an early retirement but the other half put a stop to it. ??

I thought it was to do with losing the money but turns out she has had enough of me working from home and early retirement maybe isn’t a good idea.

That's nuts. You don't have to take early retirement, you can just retire (hopefully) richer. And buy her some jewellery too.

Evening Julian,

It's ok I made the payment earlier today to the IM account with the relevant 'contribution reference' quoted in the payment from my bank.
I realised I had made a payment before months ago but it had slipped my mind, so just paid again with the new reference!

Thanks muchly, Stu

Morning mate

Thank you for your trust in us, but I think your other half was spot on! biggrin

Of course, if it is successful, people could kick themselves for not putting everything in (and many are doing already kicking themselves for not doing this with PH Equity), diversity is very important.
