Abridged version;

E91 335d touring.

Water in rear passenger footwell. Booked in with local BMW dealer to investigate (have BMW extended warranty on the car).

Car goes in, weatherboard failure identified. Not covered under warranty (leaks exempt). Authorise the work and the car is put through their water test facility. I pay, get the car back. Have to chase constantly to get updates and to actually get the car back.

Two days later, more water in rear footwell. Book the car back in. 4 days after the car is dropped off i get a text saying it's going into the workshop (why the 4 day delay?!)

They then have the car for __6 weeks-- lots and lots of chasing to get information. Including several stints of over 30 mins on hold on the phone. Get told it's the weatherboard. "You already replaced that", "ah yes, but not in the rear door"... FFS. I ask how this wasn't picked up during the water test and get told they don't know.

Then for good measure, they remove the headlining (with my permission) as they think the leak might be coming from the roof. Car gets put in the water test facility for 2 days. All is fine they say and after 6 weeks, i go to collect the car.

Get in the car, ABS and seat belt tensioner warning lights on and the plastic trim on the roof lining around the map lights is broken. Don't leave the forecourt. Back in to speak to the service agent. He gets a technician to look at it. Brings the car back, say the warning lights are off. I go out, start the car and they come back on. I'm told oh it's probably a loose connection, take the car and bring it back next week (i needed it that weekend).

Go to start the car the following morning. Won't start. starter motor turns over and over and i get a 'Drive control' error. BMW recovery can't fix the car at the roadside and recover it back to the garage.

I know it's there because the tow driver text me to say he had dropped it off. The dealer don't call me for a week, so i call them.

To be told, it looks like a leak has flooded the battery housing. And because it's a leak, it's not covered by the warranty.

Now i need the car back, but am pretty fked off to say the least that the car has been with them for nearly 3 months and twice not had the issue fixed and at least once seemingly the issue has been made worse.

The service from the garage is nothing short of appaulling and i'll feed that back to BMW and to the CEO of the group that owns the garage.

But what are people's thoughts on where i stand on the leak issue?

Essentially i will have paid for the fault to be fixed three times? Seems a bit of a piss take?

Some garages cant even do oil changes properly - in effect they are just money making setups to fit new parts on a chargeable basis .If you cant do the work yourself find a specialist in your area and only go off recommendations.

So they told you to drive away with an ABS fault (light on) and thus unroadworthy?

We all know how st dealers are but I'd be livid.
