I'm considering potential bike purchases, and would ideally like one bike which I can use for commuting, light touring inc. with a tag along for the kids, family days out etc. Thankfully the gravel/adventure road trend gives me plenty of choice. I have a 2016 Trek Domane 6.2 Disc 60cm which is fantastically comfortable, so being pretty ignorant about frame geometry I thought I'd CAD up my current bikes geometries and add a couple of the possible new bikes for comparison, and am staggered by just how close they all are.

Is this really the case that such tiny geo changes massively change the feel of the bike?

The BTwin is my current commuter and is too long for me to do much more than 50km on it.

Stack and reach are the two things that make the most noticeable ‘difference per mm’ in feel. The other parameters aren’t quite so critical to the feel and effect on handling, until you have much more difference.

It depends

Generally you aren't comparing just geometry when you jump from one bike to another. Is the frame material the same? Is the saddle the same? Is the stem length the same? Bar shape / width? Tyres? Wheels? etc. etc.

Test ride the bikes you have in mind and choose the one that feels best. Ask yourself why it feels best once you know that it does. That may, or may not, be down (in part) to the geometry of the frame
