Anyone have any details on when these are launching? If its free seems a decent proposition in the market (for a non-Amex)

Are the interest rates better than other credit cards? If not, what’s the point of it?

It’s just a Goldman Sachs credit card isn’t it? Like an Amazon credit card or any other store card?

Not sure about the interest rates but I would use it as a charge card i.e. pay off every month.

More interested in the benefits which i think on the Mastercard is 1% cashback... would be sector leading

In order

  • It’s got an Apple logo on it
  • Titanium card
  • Minimalist design, no numbers
  • Early-adopter smugness. Rarity.
  • Quite good cashback

So Apple fanboy stuff but it’s not a product it’s a credit card....

I haven't seen any confirmation of a UK launch date yet

Having seen the website only, nothing in real life yet

The integration with the app is quite swish, but nothing earth shattering

A titanium physical card with no numbers etc. is novel and will appeal to some

The cash back is generous - 2% on purchases using apple pay, 1% on non apply pay transactions and 3% on purchases from apple. Whether that holds good on the UK variant remains to be seen.

Amex Platinum is 1% and then 1.25% on spend > £10,001 in the year. There is a bit more for a few months for new accounts

But the combination of Apple, Goldman Sachs and Mastercard is an anti-globalists nightmare isn't it?!

some of the websites I’ve read have suggested ‘fall’ for a UK launch, but not holding my breath.

not got any need for another credit card, but would potentially be interested if the cash back and the ‘no international fees’ are offered in the UK.

but from some of the other posts i’ve read on the apple card, they seem to think we will not get as generous cashback offerings. as the current merchant fees are already too small to offer this. but i’ll wait and see

The interchange rate is a lot higher is in the US, therefore card providers are able to offer greater incentives to customers to use their card.

In the UK it’s now limited, which is why theses sort of 1% cash back no fee cards have faded away.

You can use Apple Pay through contactless on your mobile up to 500 quid now, so I don’t actually ever really use a card itself anymore...

An american guy was waving one of these round the pub the other day. Apart from having no numbers on it. It looks and works like any other card. He paid his bill with it.

Amex and capital one Venture in america do metal cards so its not new and innovative. Its just preying on the apple fanboys.

I have a titanium Amex, never been damaged, had it for 12 years !
Use mine as much as possible, one point per pound gets me four flights to the USA a year, mainly premium but if enough, upper.

It’s a bank card?! Who cares what it looks like. Does anyone care what their debit card looks like?

I'd get one if it offers better cashback than the AmEx Platinum Cashback I just opened (the 25 quid fee one). Especially now you can't cycle through amex cards for introductory promotions!

Without numbers how are you supposed to use it for buying stuff online or when the insurance lady asks for the 'long card number across the middle'?

Erm....... confused

Card number is on the wallet app. Still silly though.

I use Revolut as the exchange rate is amazing and although I do have a physical card now to start with it was just Apple Pay and virtual cards to read from the phone app. It worked quite well.

Surely safer - card alone can't be used for online purchases if it is lost or stolen.

Re the bold, you know what will happen...

Shouting at the phone while reading the number off the screen... FIVE. SEVEN. TWO. SEVEN... OH THE THREE DIGITS OFF THE BACK? FOUR TWO ONE
