Volume 3 already!

I wouldnt buy anything in the first place that i felt only had 15% or so to go up. Selling out of something because of a 15% rise is a prime example of selling your winner and running your losers.

Its a really tricky task finding a stock to start a position in, so "starting again" on something new isnt a 5 minute job for me and usually requires at least a couple hours of reading through figures and reports (and then usually dismissing the company for some reason)

Besides, most small cap stocks have such a large bid-ask spread that if you were to buy and sell you have already lost a few % just on that spread.

Assuming nothing had changed with the business from when i had decided it was a buy, id go to every length i could to find more money to plow into it.

I sold out of IAG during the summer because i realised it was no longer the business i bought in the first place. (burnt through its cash, taken on debt, issued more shares and was no longer in a good trading environment. It killed me to crystalise a 70% loss but im glad i did it.

a) They were all expected to go higher than 14% eventually but with a 14% rise I wonder if I shouldn't have exited and waited for the drop which of course happened today. I'dd one that on Monday with some success, just should have waited for today (Hindsight). You are correct about the spread generally but things like EQT & PHE dropped substantially more than that today. It was a "should i have taken profits" thought.

b) it's the point where you crystalise your losses. Every case is different but it's deciding you no longer have confidence in the stock going forward like you with IAG. Separating that from the impatience of waiting and watching a slow decline like EUA. There's a few times I've thought, "this is never going to happen", sold then two days later.....

BTW some of the stock I'm looking at as LTH are the likes of AVCT, EUA, GGP, EQT, PHE, CWR, AEG, all of which are a bit of a gamble but should turn out good as environmental, future medical, mining stock with apparent good news, as well as AV., AVV, BWY, LGEN, NG. etc.

Hey @MikeStroud, in answer to your question on the previous thread, currently in these (in order of initial value purchased):

EQT
GGP
SYME
RMS
AEG

Safe to say the top two have done well for me recently, i’m 130% up overall. Thinking of getting out of GGP and RMS soon and i might go big on SYME. Time to gamble again....

Did a lot of research over Christmas and moved my gamble portfolio almost entirely to SPACs now.

They're an interesting asset and follow a predictable pattern if you have patience and can stand the volatility.

I'm expecting positive moves in GHIV and ACAM over the next couple of weeks as they move towards merger date.

Doesn't look like ACAM is available on HL for some reason.

You won't find a lot of SPACs on HL.

I use IG, Interactive Brokers, and TradeZero. Just check T212 and they have it, too.

The thing with SPACs that the shares are redeemable at any point up to merger for 10$ from the SPAC itself... So effectively that's your floor. ACAM is currently sat at $11.21 so 12% capped downside risk and these have a very predictable pattern of running up to 13/14/15$+ on the way to merger... Occasionally even to 20$+ though that is rare and don't expect it.

ACAM merge date is 20th Jan.

Not been on much lately, most of my funds are tied up in EUA rightly or wrongly.

Been skimming TTCF most days, always a rise at open then a dip.

Anyone looked at corperate universe? I wish I had some cash yesterday to stick in there. Still reserching them at the minute but would like to get some while they are below a $
I was trading $TTCF last week, as I dabbled in the US markets through boredom! Made around 6% and decided to bail out as did no DD... biggrin

Only lol 2% down today, eua, not unexpected, bought Orm 14/12 last year currently 112% up,bought few more Znwd today
Interesting question by Skydiver on last volume, regards to question 1,sell entire pf,on daily rise of 14%,no chance, apart from couple of gambles rest are there for a long term reason, currently paying off upto 600+% up on some, even on a trading basis,be looking for 20+% more like 40% gain to sell, the main stocks I buy are for multiple returns, not few percent
2,regarding selling lth that's dropping, sell when getting towards 50% of maximum previous profit

Mike, there's help yet as was listening to the radio and some and some ad come on saying, if you've lost money on a share isa there's a chance you can get your money back (if you've mis-sold it).

Ok ill stop teasing now and find some random shares that'll do well.

Not sure why but in the past YOKEY popped up on new to t212. Another electrical company from Japan (I think), seems to be rising, then dips then rises again.

The 5g network is up for grabs on the West Coast of USA, if its anything like the last 5g tender that came out for Texas (?), it'll cost trillions and will be too big for one company to do alone (if they roll out the modular data centres to support it) so worth looking into resistor builders, copper mining etc.

In on the new thread to be the first one to talk about EUA..! Testing my patience a little.

A mate of mine who was in for over 5 figures sold today, he’s going to sit it out and wait for news, then get back in.

I’m in for deep 4 figures and I’m getting cold feet. All I can read today is that ‘Russian holidays until 11th so no news before then’. We were told news from the DFS will come by the end of the month, in Decembe, but still nothing.

Today - compared to yesterday

Losses on XPENG, SNG, ALGW and EQT
Made up by gains on SNG, SYME, TILS, AMGO, Boohoo and BP.
Everything else mixed bag.

MTFB which I thought was a dead duck seems to have some news on a RTO at the end of the month, so interesting to see what that brings, but there will no doubt be plenty of moves between now and then!!

Made a relatively large purchase today so have to make that up with some dabbling in shares.
£120 each working day of Jan is the target.....

Good luck with your friend getting back in on news, the day before suspension in Feb last year small rise in price put me off adding a five figure sum,the next day,rns eua suspended .....that money would've double on re listing and currently been x5 up
Doing nothing is probably the hardest part for me,but the bod/UBS/ Piper/ prospective bidders could care less about pi's timeframes,it's a case of accept this and wait, trade and make a little but risk loosing a lot, sell and put money to work elsewhere,I continue to wait

I did well with NCYT

Doing well with NNDM, think this will be a long term hold.

Just bought some ABML, which fell off a cliff today, but then recovered a bit. Got high hopes for this one though

SYME can't decide whether or not to buy, maybe if it drops into the 0.040's again. I like the idea of what they do.

MTRO has been my biggest blunder so far.

Surely if they announce the sale, the price will surge up and he will have missed the opportunity? From a fellow, tormented EUA holder.

Thanks for all your replies re BEEM in the previous thread.

Dark day here, only two of my shares heading up, and one of those is RNS. Must be a glitch in the matrix. Ha!

I sold EQT today, took £326 profit when the RNS was announced and it dropped, sadly couldn't catch it fast enough, but a gain is a gain. Now nervously waiting for it to hit 2p again. (Back on Petes toilet).

Yes I think that is absolutely the case, and TCX’s comments above too. I understand he’s hoping to get back in on the release of the feasibility study, pre sale.

In for more than that and similarly frustrated, DFS delayed probably not overly surprising given all that's going on. Think that will come out in next week or two, and probably good results, so should bump up again.

Sale? who knows. Are BOD hiding behind NDA, surely they can give an indications without breaking NDA, but maybe that doesn't warrant an RMS or is forward-looking so not allowed?
