Yeah I have been using today to average down on Sunpower a little at a time. Still too high at $34 but down from $39 with day trading it and cash back out of it.

Annoyed that I held maxeon all the was down to $18 the dillution price and moved the money out thinking it will float around there while i use the funds for other stuff then it went up 12% by mid day.

What do we think the Biden tax rise will do to shares. Everything down or a flight from tech?

I'm of the understanding that the CGT increase is for the very wealthy so it's not going to affect the average investor and incentivise them to pull their money out of stocks. It's not a tax on companies either, although tech does seem to suffer most from volatility.

The very wealthy will most likely find some loophole and arrange their taxes in a more efficient way. Let's face it, what else are they going to dump their money into? Leaving it in a bank is just burning the money.

I thought the digital assets may have seen an increase this afternoon but it seemed to replicate the stock move. In summation: I am of the belief this afternoon was a knee jerk reaction (3 hours after initially reported in NY post) and we will go back up (or at least that's what my Nasdaq bet relies on biggrin)

Sng - currently 25% down and it’s painfully dragging along....is it a ditch and find something else or ride it out....what’s everyone else doing with it?
had a fair few topups in my ISA and SIPP at £1 and £1.50 (majority ££ in the latter unfortunately) - they are in my "bust or boom" pile with SYME, MSYS and EUA
SNG I sold 2/3 of mine back in Feb as wasn't hopeful. About 15% down now. I'm just leaving it as a lth as it could come good one day.

Just park them in the LTH folder. I can see it going up but as Cathie Wood said, it’s going to be “extremely volatile”.

I’m trying to fathom out CCIV, I thought the merger was done but apparently not (yet) so trying to get opinions on if it’ll rise once it’s confirmed. Quite a bit of negatively about that stock though, read today it needs to be $15. Obviously be careful what you read and all that etc etc..

I think he made some green commitment too as my green nonsense has all gone up today (it needed to as it was all in the red).

Wow ABML up another 20+% today $1.66 - it was $1 yesterday morning.
Trying not to remember, a lot of flooring cost me an additional chunk more of opportunity cost

I can see a big drop as it’s incompetence after incompetence with them at the moment. Doesn’t instill confidence

Anyone use ii to trade? Sent me an email yesterday about trading US stocks being free for results week, next week. So, £7.99 saving per trade. It's my platform of choice and has never let me down but appreciate it's not the cheapest, especially if regularly trade small volumes. Have a code for anyone who wants to sign up - probably gives us both something but can't remember what!

Tesla

Looking good for another short here. I was hoping to see it get back up to 80 but it couldn't quite make it. I might take a few nibbles around these levels and then see what happens. I think a break below 60 would be fill your boots time.

Is it not worth changing to the 3.99 (iirc) per trade offering for you ?

I think I've left that one in my inbox to read and consider... work has been mental the last couple of weeks, hence low activity etc here.

The reality is, I am not 'trading' much at all. In and out a couple of times in AMGO and added to my THX this year but I hadn't done anything much 2nd half of 2020, so had a load of free credit. Think I may have only paid £7.99 once this year.

I just can't risk a volatile position and get stuck in back-to-back meetings... but maybe life will be simpler soon and £3.99 may be better!

I'm with Equiniti at the moment and they are moving their platform to ii. Would be interested in the answer....
