Today is probably the 1st time i havent refreshed my excel tracker in 8 months. All my LTH have been dropping (SNG, NCYT, FAR, DEV, ODX, GGP). I dont think ive had a blue day in 2 weeks, PF is over 10% down. Depressing.
snap
Same here. The last 6 weeks have seen a general downward trend for my holdings, down 10% in that time. Not nice at all but, whilst depressing to look at, I'm still confident in what I have for the longer term so not tempted to fiddle with anything which was my undoing last year.

It's things like BOO today that knock your confidence, fantastic YoY results but down 2%, seriously wtf ?
Yep, most are LTH with good prospects

What i am going to do is sell my more small holdings (£1 ste like RMS which i bought on FOMO) and become more about keeping winners and cut losers..... Mark Minervini - "You gain 100% and loose 50% 10 times and you break even. You gain 10% and loose 5% 10 times you make 71%. Then key to returns is optimal maths not the big wins"

United Oil & Gas UOG. Worthy of the Gamble thread.

I've got about 20k shares in them averaging at 4.35p which is not too bad. Just under 22% profit since I bought in.

Seem to have good drilling results, decent production rates and good prospects moving forward.

I might have to join you on UOG smile

I've just bought some OEX @ .25 - been in and out of them a few times. A major shareholder has just increased their holding so fingers crossed for a bit of upside back into the thirties soon.

Sold my sons BARC shares which were up 40% in a year and put it all into a Vanguard Active Equity Fund.

His PF is 18% total. Got Vanguard RDSB and Small SYME holding for him.

See how it all looks next year.

I assume the LSE website filter for most read RNS is broken? Anywhere else you can see this information?
Not just me then. Seems to have been like this for a couple of days
Just curious: If you see some gem in those new RNS do you try to get in (or out) at the opening bell? Does that work or do the II always get their first and you're fractionally too late to capitalise on the RNS?
Surely you are feeding off scraps if you are trying to trade the RNS news at open? The stock will have been repriced when the market opens so unless you have a different take on the news to other people then the big moves are likely to be somewhat priced in already.
I never even look for rns now if you are expecting a good one get in the night before and sell on the morning spike has made me the most short term gains

Gains can be made on earnings / results, but in the long run it's a neutral/slightly negative EV proposition.

BCN offer - https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/B...

Mentions 67.5p

EDIT: LSE sentiment is that 'shouldn't sell for less than £2' etc Normal stuff.

Have set up a 62.5p sell order - don't fancy my capital being tied up here for 8 months.

I just logged on for the first time today and the total balance of my portfolio was way up. Ok Ok what has gone mental and I see bcn sitting at the top of my % gains losses.

I'm still reading through stuff but the jist is an offer for 67p? This was a long term hold but there is always a risk with these sorts of things that they get bought out before hand. Others thoughts?

So pleased to see this offer. I average 52p and have been at a big loss since they last did one of those PrimaryBid "you have 2 hours to buy" dilutions which saw the sp plummet. I was not at all happy about their treatment of sh.

It's currently trading at about 58p so I'll wait and see how things pan out. I'd already got in the frame of mind that I'd need to hold it for 3 years or so to recover and make a profit so waiting some more is fine. Plus if it does sell for 67p in 8 months then thats a good rise from today.... worth buying more I'd say !!!

Having held AA., I'm happy to take less profit rather than wait for a formal offer which may or may not materialise.

That is sort of what I'd have thought, there is no way a PI can beat an II at the opening bell.

BUT.... in the Telegraph share dealing competition last year (think I came like 13,000th out of 14,000 or something) I recollect the winner saying they simply reviewed each days RNS and bought those companies with good news, then obviously sold again and kept repeating that. I was wondering if there is some system to be followed there hence the question to AH/AL.

I got into BCN at 46p in February. I've got a pot that I look to make 20% on then move onto another share, rinse and repeat so I can build a healthy sum from compound interest.

As the formal offer must be made by 3rd June I'm going to hold on for another few weeks in the hope that the offer will be made. If it is, I assume the SP will be fairly close to 67p until such time as the deal completes so I'll be selling then. It's about time I had some decent news; my portfolio has been utter gash for two months!

My SIG seems to have come good in the last couple of weeks. Has anything of note happened?

Up 45% now but they still appear to be going up

Good question. I'd like to know where the very latest RNS is first published? Is there a site? I just catch a bit here and there on Twitter at the moment...

I got into OEX on the RNS this morning @.245 and sold a couple of hours later for .27something (8% profit). SP is currently back down to .26. I'm sure it can be done but you have to be VERY quick and time the exit with some kind of target e.g. 5-10%. Mine was just a fluke this morning. I normally get it the wrong way around hehe

Maybe try this site: https://www.investegate.co.uk/Index.aspx?date=2021...

If you're after earnings RNS then it's pretty easy to get a calendar and find it before market open.
