Looking at putting some money into PB, around 12/13k. Seems like the interest is no better or worse than all the other low risk options - with the added chance of winning big.

Anything I need to know? Limits on initial investment? Multiple brokers / sellers out there or just the one?

Thank you

Just the one, direct. 50k limit.

It’s doing no worse for me than I’d get elsewhere, and there is an undeniable element of fun!

I had about £49k with auto reinvest, and it’s now ticked up to £50k will they send me cheques or can I get a transfer?

I think you can go over the limit with auto reinvestment of prizes?

First month in draw for me and nothing as yet. Not exactly gnawing my nails down in anticipation but as you say, you never know and there's sweet FA available really elsewhere at present.

It's a fully audited draw but they don't provide winners details as far as I know. I've never seen publicity around the £1m winners ?

It does give brief details of who has won the £1M winners I believe?

They do list the major prizes won, the winners location and the amount of bonds held by them.

Some of the big prizes often won by people with small holdings. Encouraging I suppose.

Been barely getting anything on £40k this year. Most months not getting anything. Tempted to withdraw and put into the marcus savings account.

Yeah I see your thinking .

I once heard you’re better off withdrawing it and then reinvesting a month later . Probably total Tosh

Through this year I have been adding to my premium bonds, but looking at the ones that have won, it's been the ones I've had for years not the newly invested ones. That's just my experience, I'm sure someone could say the opposite. After all it is a random draw, supposedly.......

Reading this thread I remembered I was gifted some premium bonds when I was born.

Decided to track them down(very simple exercise) found out I had 5 bonds.

Turns out I have won nowt in 47 years!

No you can’t. £50k is the limit any winnings will be sent to you via cheque or straight to your nominated bank account.

I opened an NS&I account a year ago. I put £10k in (Nov 17) then a further £10k in June. Knew it was only going to used briefly as it is now being used for my first place/deposit but I made £125 all £25 'prizes' which I feel is better than I would have got elsewhere.

Should have opened an account sometime ago.

Really good system....even if we are helping the old government out.

I opened my account in June, but I agree that I should have done this a few years ago, when I first started to save..
