I wish I could average 1.3% on my Premium Bonds frown
The expected return on Premium Bonds for a saver with average (median) "luck" is somewhat lower than 1.3%. This is because the prizes are unevenly distributed. Similarly, the lottery returns over 50% of the ticket price as winnings, but the median lottery player wins £0.

I heard that if you take the bonds out and reinvest every now and again, it helps? No idea but might try it. When i do win the numbers do seem to be quite near to each other rather than all over the place.

That's a myth, plus you'll lose a months worth of entries of the money you take out/put back in.

My Mrs only has £30K in PBs and I've just got an unexpected £20K windfall. Not got the time to thiink about what to do with it so will stick it into PBs for now which will take her up to the limit.

I doubt it will make much difference to the chances of winning.

At a rough guess about 60% better chance.

Just a guess, you understand.

I thought it was always the second or third working day of each month?

Yeah struggling to find info.

The results are announced IIRC on 2/3 days after but the actual draw is what I am trying to figure out even google does not have the answer.

The actual selection is made in the last week of the month before the draw, the high value winners list is normally made available on the 1st working day of the month (I think), all results are available on 2nd working day of the month.

Had £50k in PBs last week, got worried about coronavirus and the markets crashing. Just logged on...still £50k.

Yeah, 2 weeks ago doesn’t seem like the best time to have started a S and S ISA 🤣

That's why your granny said 'drip feeding' is the answer. You get the advantage of pound cost averaging.

Hmmm, didn’t put a lot of money in anyway, they had a good opening bonus...

Guess someone will be glad they chose to reinvest their winnings as they've won a million with a £25 bond value.
