Premium bonds are great for that pot you know you're going to need at some point. It's so easy to pull money in and out. Even money I put to one side for a wedding next year is in there. You never know you may get super lucky.

Not after the wedding you won't.

Unless you've got a reasonabe investment, don't get your hopes up too much.

Here is a good calculator to see what you will probably win, it obviously doesn't account for the super lucky!! :-)

No it not a big investment at all, but had some spare cash from sale of a car and thought rather than frittering it away on booze and fags I would stick it in there. Got to be in it to win it but in reality not expecting anything.

It more that the cash is not in my bank account to be sqaundered

January. It's one full calendar month before eligibility.

I look at it like this, I'm playing the lottery, with ZERO risk!

Question for the premium bonds people - has anyone else received an unexpected "thanks for updating your details - if this wasn't you please call xxxxxxx" email in the last 24 hours ?

Well, I have (received the email) and no, I didn't, so someone is trying to gain access to my NS&I account.

Spoke to an NS&I fraud bod this morning, apparently 2 calls were made yesterday by someone pretending to be me, resulting in a changed password and some other alterations. Account is now frozen.

Just wondering if it's just me (i had a period of identify theft earlier this year), or if this is affecting anyone else as well ?

withdrawn my funds today after a month or two as a better short term investment came knocking but will put it back in once that's sold as the million pound prize needs winning by someone, might as well be me!

I don't reckon we'll see the results until Tuesday, there have been a lot of months starting on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday this year, very annoying!

Unless you have xxxx amount in it's likely you'll see bugger all in return, but if its not much then keep on putting in and you'll see something at a certain point. That's how I built mine up, every bit of spare went in over many years.
