MODs: Not sure what sections this needs to be in, move as required.

Chaps,

I've been paying £150 ground rent per year since i took ownership of my flat in 2008 (I am the first owner).

I have a copy of the terms of the lease stating that the ground rent is £150 per annum, £75 bi yearly.

My current maintenance company have sold off the lease to a new leaseholder, who ONLY deal with you via email (no telephone number listed at companies house, either). They now state that I owe them £200 a year, no explanations why, just a curt response in the email of 'you have probably been paying the wrong amount of ground rent'.

So what hope have i got here of resolving this? The company only deal via email or letter, and have been pretty unhelpful so far.

Are the terms of my lease not worth the paper its printed on? Can the new leaseholder up the ground rent with no notice?

Terms of the lease are just that. Re-read your lease for any signs of rent review etc.

Then just reply stating your position, inviting them to take you to court if feeling brave enough.
