I looked at recent sold prices last year, can't bear to do so again... Would have been a good chunk of school fees that I am now looking how to afford! FFS
It’s painful huh. I know what you mean about feeling like an art dealer god - I flew to New York once (first time I’d ever been) and picked up a Heavy Weaponry canvas (1/25) and sold it 2 weeks later for a profit of £5k after all costs - that’s probably worth north of £250k now. Then there’s the signed GWB, signed Applause, signed Grannies and signed Turf War I’ve owned and sold along the way yikes I was told by ‘experts’ that there’s no way the Banksy trend would continue so put the money into ‘reputable’ artists which by and large have either dived or I’d break even at best.

My consolation is that I’m lucky enough to still own a fair few - but even that’s been affected as I couldn’t get them insured where I am for a sensible price so have had to mainly put them in storage which isn’t the point of art.

Eta - atleast the ones you did have show you’ve got good taste!

Mako sharks, made from carbon fibre, etched stainless steel and mounted on a gear from an F1 car. Custom painted to match the cars in the garage.

Those are cool. I love them. cloud9

Try Alex Echo, although you might want to sit down before looking at the prices.
Thanks. His web page lead me to the webpage of a gallery near me that sells his work, and on their website is shows a general photo with a painting in the background which is just the style I'm after. Sadly the shopping centre that houses the gallery is closed.

This one by Alex Echo is the type I want, but as you said......the price!!!

£4,950

There’s a gallery near me that does his stuff (check out Castle Galleries - they have them all over the place) that had one of his big original pieces - it was about six or seven feet square and basically a huge colour burst. Looked utterly fantastic but I thought they’d misplaced the decimal place when I saw the price: £40k!!
I was lucky enough to able to attend one of his visits to our local Castle Galleries store and watch him work - just had to buy the piece he produced.

Anyone have any recommendations/ideas for artists that produce mixed media pieces?
I'd like something (wall hang) that has texture and a relief/3d quality to it.

I like Nic Joly for example but his latest stuff is a bit too cheesy for my liking:
