We BBQ in summer. Often. And eat outdoors at our table. And... summer is coming.
Our table outside, is in the part of the garden nearest the house, close to the drain which the dishwasher, upstairs sink and whatnot empty into.
We enjoy cooking for guests, and we generally spend a great deal of time outside when the weather is fair.
And I (after a few beers) sometimes pee into this drain, when in need. Usually when guests are not over.
PRO's of peeing in the drain:
1) Saves going indoors.
b) Makes me laugh (doesnt happen when I pee indoors)
III) Saves water
Four) I dont need to go far and abandon the BBQ, or my beer.
Ive been thinking of installing a urinal as a practical joke, over this same drain.
Girlfriend would not like it.
I however, would love it!
I can buy a Vitra urinal bowl in white for £50, pictured below.
CONS of installing urinal:
1) GF does not like me peeing in the drain as it is. She would not approve. At all.
- no other known cons.

5) It would look better than a 12 foot trough urinal, I dont even have to go far.
6) Superb conversation piece over a nice meal with guests
7) No need to flush, drain pipe could flush it out
8) I would get to know some of my mates better as Id be out the house for a month at least = more beer time
Ive spent the last three weeks debating whether or not to take the plunge and install a urinal over the drain, by our nice outdoor dinner table, as a nice surprise for my GF, but cant decide whether or not to proceed with my cunning plan.
Its also coincidentally her birthday in a month so I could use my "good intentions" to accidentally have mistakenly chosen the wrong birthday garden present for our home, I might then only be living in a tent for a week at most.
So I'll put it to PH.
If 90% of you vote in favour, I'll install this urinal and post pics. I just need a motivational kick up the arse to take the plunge into what I suspect might not end well, as... its her house, not mine.

Other than the thought of you BBQ'ing for your guests having just used the al fresco urinal without an opportunity to at least pretend you've washed your hands I can see no negatives in your plan to install it.

Haha amazing idea. Get it installed and for extra hilarity you can wrap up some urinal cakes for her birthday. When she quizzes you then you can unveil the other half of the present. She will be secretly delighted.
Splendid idea. And possible too, as her Birthday is on a week day.
