Biological washing powder does the job perfectly - pout it on, keep damp for a couple of days, rinse off. The "Bio" bit is enzymatic, they eat anything like oil. Oven cleaner works as well, but only the sprays like Mr. Muscle that come with loads of warnings about eye and hand protection.

Then I purchased some No Nonsense degreaser and applied it in ever stronger mixes whilst scrubbing like a man possessed for an hour... Nope, still nothing.
This stuff usually works pretty well neat, especially if you let it soak a while. Had no problem removing oil, muck and grease when I tried it.

Apparently works OK with pressure washers too.

Maybe I should've left it to soak for more than 10-15 mins between applications, but it really didn't appear to do anything in my case. Very good for cleaning the bbq though!

New stains forming as we speak from latest purchase...
In the past I did an oil change into a bowl with a crack in it and watched the black void expanding in all directions.
Maybe because it was new soaked most up with newspaper and then washing up liquid and scrubbing and hoseing seemed to shift it all.
Maybe to a lower standard than some require.
Was driven to report due to that epic battle a few posts back lol.

I was fuming last week when I came home from work to find an couple of oil stains on my block paving. It turned out a tradesman visiting the next door neighbour parked his rust bucket van on my drive without permission and she was unaware of this.

Neighbour was mortified and offered to pay to have it cleaned, but I’ve managed to get it maybe 95% off myself.

I got the black stuff off with heavy duty bike chain degreaser and by blotting it up with kitchen roll. And for the remaining stain I scrubbed it with a tub of Vanish powder (meant for putting in washing machines I think) and you can only see it now if you know where to look. Hopefully the sun will fade the remainder over the summer.

After using degreasers as described above to get the bulk of oil staining out

I use 2k acrylic thinners and an air line blow gun - blow the remaining oil into the (block paving) brick.
You need to keep the blocks wet with the thinners and use the air line.

It works great on fresh oil drops too - it is how I found out.... When my transit leaked on a customers drive a few years ago it turned out he was a retired mechanic and he just sorted it there and then with a jam jar of thinners, paintbrush and an air line blow gun!
