Bosch Connect mowers are secure as long as you have paired the mower with your phone.

If it's stolen you can connect to the GPS and see where it is.

You can also disable it permanently via the app.

The 350 & 400 Connect units have a design fault with the front wheel bearing assembly.

If not cleaned and lubricated regularly they start to seize up.

This stresses the drive motors, which then overheat and seize.

You need to check that the front wheels spin freely several times during the mowing season.

All the Bosch mowers are excellent.

i really like the 350 & 400 but you can't beat the 1200 for larger lawns.

3 year no quibble warranty as well.

Yes - 1 or both of the front wheels are seized.

If you keep using it like that the drive motors will seize up.

If it's under 3 years old get it back to Bosch.

Or you can just buy new front wheels - they are held in with a screw.

Or clean them and free up the bearings with WD40.

Rfisher you were right. Wheels were bunged up with crap. Cleaned out and a lot better now. Although I still get the issue of it not cutting a certain patch of the lawn. Very odd. Garden is a square and cable all around the edge. No trees etc.

Finally pushed the button and bought a Worx WR110MI but opted for a second hand one so I can test if it will work ok on my lawn.

So question is as we’re now heading into the winter months do I set it up now or wait for the spring to let it work it’s magic?

TBH, I’d wait now. Mind you, the ground is perhaps soft to fix perimeter cable....last year ours went in from mid-Nov until about late Feb (mild winter).....so perhaps still some mowing to do...

thumbup

Check the map it has stored of your garden on the app to see if it knows that bit exists.

If it knows it's there then it should show it as unmown in dark green.

I presume that you have the latest version of the app?

I've been wanting a robot mower for a while now, and with Black Friday coming it seems like a good opportunity to get a deal, assuming there are offers as in previous years.

So looking to decide on the model I would like, and the Flymo seems the obvious choice, and currently £400 on Amazon. However, the WORX WR130E S300 also seems to get good review, although slightly more money.

I have a small (120sqm) garden, so either should work from a size point of view. For those with either of these models, are there any particular issues or advantages you see in the one you have?

I keep coming back to this thread and robot mowers but still haven't been able to make a decision.
I have. About 2 months ago I bought one. It's still in the box in the garage! getmecoat

Although that's only because I need to put power out to the lawn base unit.
Which one did you go for?
The Flymo one. Its been around for about 6 years now and seemed the safest best, plus the price was good £300 iirc)

I have the Flymo, it's done good work this year, it's in the garage now though as the weather has turned cold enough to not need mowing.

My garden is about 200 sq m and it copes with that just fine.

The Flymo is down to £400 - not a bad price historically - https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Flymo-1200-Lithium-...

The Flymo is a good little robot mower for simple & flatter gardens, especially for £400. We have one, and also a Husqvarna 315 (much more "serious") for a larger area.

So, top tip. Do not run your robot mower one evening when your 12v garden lighting system, with wires running through your flowerbeds, is switched on.

Your mower will think that those wires are the boundary guide wire, run over them (cutting them in several places as it hunts them down) and then meander through your borders massacring your carefully situated plants.

Yes, this was expensive.

How did it bypass the proper boundary wire?

Any Worx owners here? Do you need to put a pin number in constantly as per my Bosch, which is highly annoying. Mowers hits an obstacle or you move it then you need to constantly keep putting the bloody pin number in. I wish there was a way to turn it all off. I think im set on a worx model for the new year. Im going to contact bosch and get my screen repaired under warranty then well it in the spring for a Worx

We have the WG790: works well on a decent sized lawn, can’t recall the last time I had to put the code in: not this year!
Also have a smaller S300 (for a smaller lawn): no code needed there, goes nicely to the edge too, but fewer options for scheduling (daily at same time for 2 hours, really)

I was wondering that: unless Harry’s regularly mows the beds?!

Does the s300 mow right to the edge? I have some metal edging round the edge of the lawn and at the moment i have to get the strimmer out as my Bosch leaves a 30cm gap round the edge.
