Exactly. The road is full of £1.3m-£1.8m houses. Plenty of scope to buy / level / rebuild to your spec and not catch a cold in the long term.

Randomly, I was looking to buy this but was unsucessful, as I understand it it'll go for well over £1m.

Having done (a considerable amount of) research on it you'll be able to build with a footprint of about 14m wide by 15m deep without too many planning issues, either as one detached house or a pair of semi's.

It's got an underground WW2 shelter in the garden which is a nice touch.

There's also what looks like an aged Fairey Hunstman/Huntress in the back garden. In the same shape as the house sadly. frown

I don't understand how people get it so wrong. Surely if you're serious about a new build you choose fixings and fittings that match the overall style. The designer/architect/builders should be able to say "are you sure?" at various points along the way. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a splash of colour. But it strikes me that these "accents" are always out of touch with the rest of the room, let alone the house

It's overpriced and out of, sorry, complete devoid of, character vs. the other large houses on the same avenue.

(I used to live around there before I moved abroad.)

maybe - but I'd argue that it's far from a nightmare

How do you know this?

If it was 30 years ago they would have fallen walking up to the TV to change the channel. Or straining to see it.

I really like that, apart from a bit of wrapping to get rid of the pink on the top of the kitchen cupboards all the pink will be leaving with the seller i'd imagine.

^^ 200k. Someone's having a larf.

But the biggest question is: why did the "developer" back out of this "investment opportunity?" What did they discover...
Haha. I have only been to Loughborough once in my life and that was to pick a mate up at the end of that street. I think he was staying on that street. I know little about house prices in that part of the world but looking at the prices from 10 years ago, they presumably have tripled.

"A unique development opportunity"

"The site measures approximately 1.92 acres / 0.78 HA and has planning approved for three detached residences measuring 12,500 sq ft each"

To squeeze 3 new build McMansions, with tiny gardens and a shared access road, into 2 hectares and hope to sell them all for a profit after a £14M initial cost! laugh
