Anyone able to offer advise/comments please.

We are about to change our old front door to our home, it is old and replacement is overdue.
We have decided to go with Solidor C/W frame. What is a reasonable pro' price to remove old and fit the new door?
Also we intend to replace the personal door and frame on the garage at same time. As this door is in a secure rear garden we intend to go for a lower quality door but still a good door. Can't seem to find a door as yet.

I used these guys to supply, very happy too. It was fitted as part of some other work I was having done so not sure about the cost, but it didn't take them long.

I've just paid £1200 for a solidor. It was about £1000 with all everything "standard".

We had a quote this week for a Rockdoor of £1,400, and one for a English Door Company door of £1,700.

Thanks for all the responses, all helpful. Just had my first quote for a fully fitted solidor all in at £2347
Also a pedestrian garage door same company at £932

It's a good local company that will do a great job, but price seems high compared to your experiences

that's way too much, we just had 2x solidors fitted, front one with glazed side panels a replacement garage side window and a few window panels on the place replacing , £2300 all in (cottage style with black furniture), although we did have to go through 3 suppliers to get that, first one was double. You should be looking at £1000 fitted for a front door.

Hi,

We have a Solidor fitted along with french doors and a single entrance PVC garage door (not for the car) and the overall cost was circa £2.5k

I think the Solidor came in around £950. That was 2 years ago now.

Just about to have a Solidor stable door installed (back door). £1500 including fitting which involves lowering the threshold. Had three other quotes all around this price.

I think that you have to be careful about chasing the very cheapest quote. If there's a problem it will be the supplier who will be your first port of call as your contract is with them and not Solidor.

I was put off Solidor by the significant number of negative reviews on trust pilot in relation to doors warping, outer coating cracking and then subsequent poor customer care from Solidor.

But then my wife does say that I always concentrate on negative reviews lol. In all seriousness though there were too many to ignore.

I defo do not want cheapest, what I would like is value for money. Your comment about customer service rings true, I looked at the record for this with the company about to quote, not good at all! Thinking about cancelling the visit.
Thanks for feedback on your experiences with solidor. It's a nightmare out there.
