Hey guys I'm looking to build a pergola using 4 x 150x250 posts and then 150x50 beams for the bearers and rafters. I priced it all up from a site online https://www.uk-timber.co.uk/150-pergola-components

It's coming in at around £1k. But the delivery is £160. Has anyone built their own pergola? Does anyone know of any other places I can get timber from etc?
Thanks

How big is It?
Those 250 x 150 timbers seem OTT for a simple garden structure

Speak to your local sawmill. For softwood, those prices seem quite high.

I designed and built this pergola over the bank holiday weekend.

Not as grand as some I have seen but does the job and cost me circa £120 in materials, and a lot of thought processing (first attempt at DIY!).

The posts I have used where 100x100 and set to 300mm deep with post mix - its a fairly solid structure, tested by me handing from it.
