Whoah.

Hold up, you're getting all these plaudits about how good a dad you are, and how lucky Francesca is, and in reality she's actually going to be getting her pool a week late? Mate, that's disgusting. She's going to be heartbroken now, you've let her down.

I hope you've bought her a pony and a ménage to make up for it. It's the least you can do.

Actually, you probably have, haven't you?

Enjoy the beers, hope you have a good night. I'm having enough trouble trying to get a 15m2 extension sorted out so Christ knows how you've managed to get this pool done so quickly! biggrin
its MANEGE,
Technically it has grave accent - manège.

If we run over by the same number of days we physically could not work due to the weather, then I am still classing that as a win!!!

Even if you run over by 2 weeks I would still class that as a massive win!
For some context, I paid a deposit to a window guy 2 weeks ago today - and I still have no idea of when he might deign to install them.

Here's my pool at home after one week of the pump failing. Pump is now repaired and now running a shock treatment to bring it back to clear water.
Normally we just keep 3 tablets in the water and run the pump for a couple of hours per day and this seems to keep it clear.
Same size as the OP's, 11x4x1.5m so about 66 cubic metres.

Advice from the pool shop was to take out the tablets (that I could barely see on the bottom), switch the pump to recycle instead of filter.
Add 2kg of Chlorine Powder followed by
5kg Soda Ash followed by 3kg PAC (no idea what this is but it's a yellow powder)

Then run the pump for 8 hours (to midnight here) by the morning it should be clear.
If it is still milky then add 10 litres of what looks like "HCl + Tempat" on the receipt, which I'm guessing is some form of bleach?
Once it's clear again, add the tablets back in and revert to normal filtering arrangements.

Total cost for the chemicals was about £11 smile

Morning update photos...

We have taken the muck off the bottom of the pool now and the water temp is 25.5 degrees. Slatted solar cover is being installed right now and we need to get the net in to get the pine needles out. Paving going down and praying for a dry day!

Electrician coming back tomorrow to finalise the lights and spa jets.

I'll keep you all updated!

You're gonna need a decent jet washer with a patio cleaner attachment next spring with all those slabs.

We had just under 3,000 sq ft of patio done last summer. After a whole day with an old jet wash and a lance I'd only cleaned a third of it so got bored and went out and bought the full monty kracher system. Did the rest of it in a morning. Very satisfying when all nice and clean.

We have a jet wash for the cars, but it is hard work on the existing paving every years. What would you recommend?
