I buy the cheap Draper sets in the blue case a couple of times a year - I lose screwdrivers often enough that anything expensive would soon be an expensive loss!

Wera for me, Have used various brands including Bacho, Irozola, Whia and CK.

Nothing compares to Wera. Tad on the expensive side but worth it.

IME, PB Swiss is even better than Wera. Though I'd happily use either brand. Except that I'd always pick PB Swiss for slotted screwdrivers, because their parallel tips are virtually unique and fit better, with far less chance of damaging softer screws.

Check out the reviews of PB Swiss on Toolguyd.com or TheWanderingAxeManwink

Some high quality stuff here Screwdrivers They also sell PB Swiss gear as well.
As above, onlyqualitytools.com is a great site and can prove very expensive. Just don't look at the hex keys...

Wow, quite the response, thanks guys thumbup

Were seems to be getting a lot of love, so something like this perhaps?

If you're going Wera, it is all about the canvas roll bags. Sure, you can buy the set you linked and you can simply and effortlessly pick it out of your tool box (you'll obviously need a toolbox btw), but what you want, what you really need, is to pick a large, weighty roll bag out of the tool box. You need to peel apart the velcro, spread it open, gently slide out the bit and drive it hard into the handle for a satisfying click.

Oh jesus, I've just found a Wera man bag that you can stick the various tool bags too and it carried your loose tools cloud9 I don't even own a ladder, but I need this!

I've been happy with my Teng set that I bought well over 10 years ago. However I also have a Makita bit set with a tiny ratchet that gets used a lot.

The key thing is to keep the good screwdrivers for their intended purpose and use your old ones for opening paint tins etc.

But these are Japanese standard screwdrivers ie JIS not Philips used in the UK.
Ideal for stuff with Japanese screws though.

I've got a couple of sets of the non-Pro Halfords screwdrivers they used to give away with oil, and to be fair they aren't bad, certainly not your average pound shop cheesium tools.

PB Swiss are 100% made in Switzerland. Wera used to be made in Germany, but are now made in the Czech Republic. Wiha are made in Germany.

You are both right....and I do have a selection of screwdrivers ...Horses for courses.

The Vessel ones are incredibly good though, especially with stubborn screws, as their serrated drive grips like a tenacious terrier.
