I love pretty much love everything about this. In my home town of Southwell, Notts.
Until not that many years ago it was rendered, what moron would bury that beautiful brickwork?!

That's very special. Although the alignment of the windows vs the gables is one for the teeth-itch thread. It feels you can practically read the evolution of the house through the brickwork. They've done a stunning job on that. Definitely labour of love.Until not that many years ago it was rendered, what moron would bury that beautiful brickwork?!

Just found the 'rendered' view from a few years back. Where the hell did the rainwater go?

Historically, brick buildings were often rendered to make them weatherproof. Don’t know if that’s the case here obviously, but it might explain it. Looks much better in brick though.Until not that many years ago it was rendered, what moron would bury that beautiful brickwork?!

... usually with a cement render which can cause more problems than it cures, unfortunately.Fermit The Krog and Sexy Sarah said:

I'm from just down the road in North Muskham, originally. Southwell is great, but the busy-ness of the main road and lack of garaging there would put me off...Until not that many years ago it was rendered, what moron would bury that beautiful brickwork?!

You could definitely tempt me with Fiskerton Manor, just down the road though...

(Admittedly, the interior isn't as nice as "yours" though...)

All of the white rendered part to the front has been added since, there used to be a four car garage there.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I don't recall Tillycorthie Mansion House, Aberdeenshire - £1.5m. It has one hell of a feature.
Gothic 3 winged (C shaped) mansion.
The central space has huge glass atrium and it's an original feature too.
Nicely and cleanly decorated inside too, as in it doesn't look like it's got a leaky roof, draughty windows and wall pointing needing doing. So might not be the typical Scottish moneypit.

It's been on the market a few times recently, and as a rental, not exactly furnished to support the valuation!Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
