Nor me. It’s a weird mix of mock Gothic and Victorian with a bit of Premier Inn thrown into the mix. Utterly tasteless.

I've done a charity ride a few times that ends at the pub just before the bridge to Hayling Island. I wouldn't say I know the area well, but I do a little. It always struck me as being very built up around there. I'd want to be in one of the beautiful villages a few miles North, although nothing takes my fancy that is available currently...
Quite noisy there, too. It's a busy road and also well within earshot of the A27. Nice little walk along the shoreline from the pub to Emsworth though.

Not a fan of the mix-n-match approach to the Classical Orders, the massing of the columns to the portico or the demi-lune window in the pediment.

I know he was derided by the snooty end of the architectural profession but this Quinlan Terry house is jolly nice, not least for having an R129 parked outside.

Same site, this Cornish Grade 1 is near-perfect

Doubt we'll ever see either on Rightmove...

It’s a shame that most of the architectural profession and/or their clients opt for the classical pastiche approach to satisfy the NPPF para 79 ‘exceptional quality’ provision, rather than something 21st century contemporary that is truly innovative.

I love Palladian architecture (including modern pastiches from the likes of Quinlan Terry) but that is just a mess.

If they removed the out of place cupolas and the top floor they are on it would look a lot better, more classical.

I like it. Needs a bit interior stuff here and there. But It’s a bit of me.

Lots to like. But the garage block dormers are truly gopping, and the faux-rustic beams and uprights in the main reception rooms are a disgrace. Maybe just me...

Yep, fill that in and take off the two gun turrets and it's OK.

But if I had that much money I'd prefer to buy a real stately home than a fake one.

This is madness and yet I could just stretch to it.

It may need a bit of a tidy up and is probably a bugger to keep warm. Grass needs cutting, 7 acres, 2 more houses in the grounds. Must be haunted.

The estate warrants a stately house

I’m mildly curious if it will have a Wren kitchen

Not for me. Clumsy front gables, over-dormered and full of vernacular fakery.

'A spokeswoman said they had to mention someone died there by law' Really? Surely if that were the case pretty much every Victorian terrace would have to have that statement?

Bloke sounded like his imagination got him into some difficulties that he couldn't see his way out of.

Nice house, though some garish colour choices that need quietening down.
