5 bed,12th floor penthouse apartment in the European Quarter of Luxembourg City (capital village)

330m2: €7.3m
€1.5m down, and €5.8m loan on 1.5% over 25 years is €23.3k / month wobble

The kitchen is in what was the ballroom. It's soooooo over the top, like something from the Palace of Versailles.

665 3 bed houses for sale within a 3 mile radius of Forest Hill a decent area of London.

I only went up to £600,000.

Fair enough. But is this within 3 miles of a decent areas including drug infested hellscapes or somewhere someone who has to be on the thick end of £150k per year to afford these want to live?

Editing to add something I really like but unfortunately no double garage.

London is characterised by having many of the absolute best areas immediately adjacent to the worst.

I live in Chelsea, considered one of the finest areas of London, within a mile in any direction I can be in the polar opposite.

It’s impossible not to be in London.

The link will encompass similar. Very nice areas and very poor areas. I’m simply showing that for considerably less than £750k you can find plenty of family houses.

The cheapest on my road however is £10 million as I’m a PHer!

For sure.

It was a genuine question. Not familiar with South London.

What makes me shudder is the proximity of neighbours, and even 'detached houses' seem to only have a few inches of room between adjacent properties. Lack of garden, lack of space, lack of parking, privacy, peace and quiet and yes even security and worry. etc etc.

I'm not well off, but have space around my home, ample parking, and plenty of open spaces around where I live. Yes it would be nice to have a few more decent restaurants and things, but all in all, I wouldn't swap for the world. I left west London 21 years ago when we had our first child and have not wished to go back. You might say any property we would have bought would have trebled in value (or more) but you can keep that money.

And what's a Wellness Room? Would you be unwell in the others?

Thanks. I've been very happy in Clausen for the past 18 moths but apparently it's progress....

Yup, but I keep remembering late 90s, when I was a student at Bedford Sq (WC), was full of junkies and it would be quite awkward to walk alone there in the evenings. I guess I do not have to say about how "uber-rich and niche" that area has become? I can say the same for Farrindgon and etc... back in mid 2005, the area was full of drunkards and dodgy dealers mostly due to nightclubs. Now super-elit. So I think with time, most of these areas change in the positive direction.

I often wonder how one really lives in Lux? Seriously..My wife's company used to send her annually, and everytime I went there, super-boring city. Of course lovely views, streets and nature but mostly empty and almost everywhere is closed. The best part was to rent a car and escape to Strasbourg hehe

Cadogan estate. 5 mins from Worlds End.

As I said ( and as you know) in London you are never far from the extremes.

Good job the Cadogan estate is only 93 acres, otherwise it would be hard to pin-point where you live! Haha

"Guildford, an authentic 16th-century Tudor residence sits majestically on 18 park-like acres with sweeping vistas and spectacular sunsets overlooking the neighbouring valley" 21,000 sq/ft and on the market for £7.6m.

And it's just a 90 minute drive from Manhattan.

Top drawer fakery there. The estate agent’s (sorry, relator’s) blurb is hilarious.

"Built with 16th century English Tudor architectural elements imported from Guildford"

"Guildford’s entire substructure, including the roof, is made from thick, reinforced concrete"

"metal downspouts dated 1589 and red tile roof all dazzle as they did when they were originally installed"

Sounds, er, really genuine. smile
