Blimey, that's nasty. Looks like gated-community American.

interesting looking building. Needs some proper nice furnishings though.

Grounds need to mature too.
I don't know why, I think it looks like the sort of place a religious cult could take hold. Possibly the fact it has the look of a new-age church from the outside.

I wonder, would you take a car to the tennis court or walk? It's rather a long way from the house with no parking or clubhouse facilities of its own. laugh

I actually really like that. I shouldn't but I do.
You're right. You shouldn't smile

Luytens will be spinning in his grave having his name associated with that monstrosity.

The wonky antlers on the stag above the fireplace put me off...

What a weird mis-match of styles!
Dreadful. Looks like something Hugh Hefner would live in. In the 1970s.

“Edwin Lutyens inspired small country estate”. Where do these estate agents dream this BS up from?

Wonder how it got pp in the open countryside. It’s hardly para 55 (now para 79) NPPF* compliant.

I'm actually impressed with how devoid of any kind of taste that is.

Give it 20years for the grounds to mature, and get some people in that have taste, think it will look much better.

And hopefully they will redesign the house itself, because it's ugly.

The agent has the cheek to lead off by saying that's "inspired by Edwin Lutyens" on the basis of a pair of garden benches and some large windows, and because it's in the same neck of the woods as the real thing

Though if you want Peak Lutyens then Abbotswood in Glos is probably the dog's actual danglies. Excess of £27m used to buy you 10 beds, 774 acres, two lodges, 11 farmhouses and cottages, farm buildings, formal gardens, a walled kitchen garden, parkland, pasture, woodland, lakes and a river back in the good old days of 2015.

I like the lake and gazebo thing on the deck.

It wont be everyone's cup of tea, but since moving to this area this has been my must have house. Whaley is a sleepy hamlet, very farm centric. 7 acres too, nice.

We get our free range eggs from there, from a little cart with an honesty box!

Outside, the plot and garage are great, decor is decidedly iffy but could be changed. I assume the first floor lounge is to make the most of a view?
Actually the garage is a bit dilsappointing from a PH point of view but could be altered a little maybe. Its really only 2 singles and a workshop. First floor bedrooms aren't huge either. But for the money its not bad at all.

This one is all about the spot it's in. It's so out of the way and quiet, at the bottom of a valley. A bonus for dog owners is literally across the lane, 80 acres of this, Poulter pit woods.
