Or because they let both the Warehouse and Guardsvan so deemed it vital each house had its own. Can't really see the appeal but I suppose if you want to attract a variety maybe it helps...
It's a great house, apart from the kitchen, and the extra buildings are very nicely done. Shame about the road and the 2 cottages. I'd be trying to add those to the curtilage as time went by and let them too.

Why the hell does it have three spunk ponds?
Holiday lets.

Pretty sure that's Chris Donald's (of Viz fame) old house.

Edit: It is https://www.independent.co.uk/news/duke-joins-forc...

I think 'fame' is a stretch.

I've heard of Viz, but not of Chris Donald.

Penrith. Cumbria has many lovely places...Penrith isn't one of them.
It’s in Maulds Meaburn which is about 20 minutes away from Penrith.
So 3 miles on the local roads then...

That'll teach me to read the advert though.
Agree that Penrith isn’t exactly lovely but you’d only have to go there for a weekly shop if home delivery isn’t your thing, and nearby Kirkby Stephen and Appleby are nice wee towns.
Doesn't Appleby have a famous horse fair?

Stumbled across this the other day. Not my cup of tea at all but it does have one very unusual redeeming feature.

It's a shame that it's so totally devoid of character and charm.

Yep! Not the most amazing location either though it's pleasant enough.

I prefer the house next door. (Mind you, if the drains ever blocked, then life might get quite damp quite quickly!)

Interesting quote.

We were local on holiday last year and picked up a takeaway curry on the strength of Tripadvisor

Whilst by no means average it really wasnt the best curry we've ever had but the manager was absolutely a top fella making a go of it relocating his family from Newcastle. I couldnt bring myself to spoil his TA reviews with a mediocre listing because the fact is that it was perfectly decent - just not as great as I had been expecting

And Id go again

Cheers

Amazing what you can get for your money in those northern slums.
