Geography - it's kind of difficult to get to - but more specifically average income levels.

I think the inbred comments may be out of date now - the eastern european immigrants have brought a fresh new gene pool.....

Looks like the same place sold for 285k in 2005

Just walked past this one. Grand, cheap (in absolute terms), but not as usable as might be imagined, perhaps.

It's in Spalding... Each to their own etc, but I'd rather live in Kabul.
Really? Kabul? If you don't like Spalding, that's cool, just say that.
Don't make yourself sound like a fking idiot by saying that you'd rather live in Kabul.
indeed, rofl don't you just love people on social mee'ja
Wouldn't you make yourself sound more of an idiot by taking an obviously tongue in cheek comment as an actual opinion?

To qualify my assertion I should say I have never been to either Spalding or Kabul, apologies to residents of either place if I am wrong.
The sheer juxtaposition of both places makes your point utterly absurd & idiotic.

I knew you'd only used it as a reinforcement of your opinion, but that doesn't make it any less stupid.

My brother lives a few doors down from that house. Never been to Spalding but I hear it’s a bit of a dump (from my brother and the rest of my family).

The bold bit that you seem to have missed, should answer your question.

Call it what you want; hyperbole, tongue-in-cheek, whatever - it was a stupid thing to say.

I think that sums it up. Or more precicely, anyone who has £1m of purchasing power and opts to raise their children in a piss soaked industrial wasteland in a stty, part of Town as this should get a visit from the local mental health professionals if they can spare the time dealing with the tramps, skanks, drunks and other human detritus that London society has warehoused in that vicinity for over 900 years.

Spend 3m, market for 900k. Dollars that is, a "doomsday prepper" in the Nevada desert. With its own gold mine.

ETA it's actually only 850k, and comes with a workshop with car lift...

Sign up for what? I just hit the escape key and that pop-up disappeared. Or go to http://ghosttownforsale.com for the desktop site.

It's certainly imaginative but you'd need more than imagination to want to pay that much to live there. Is Dartford on the way up? It's the only place where I've ever visited a pub and thought it might be best to leave straightaway.

It’s Walworth, not Dartford. Walking distance to places that sell the Guardian and £6 loaves of sourdough in Camberwell.
