Right now, I'm a bit bored of my view this morning (water) and fancy something a little more hilly. Today I have a bit of a "log-cabin" feeling along with wanting to be as far away from other people as possible. Enter Montana:

What's happening with photos 9 and 10, also 20 and 21! Makes you wonder what's real.
Bizarre. As soon as you spot that, nothing looks real in any of the images. And look at photo 16 - notice anything missing?
My guess is the house is empty and they have virtually staged it.

If the two closest towns to you are Plymouth and Tavistock then, yes, it is. wink
I was at school at Tavistock ... it’s improved over the past 30-40 years.

Seems to be more upmarket and trendy these days 😊

Seems to have been used as some sort of hotel - pic 9

Incredible place though - you'd need a reasonable staff just to maintain the place & keep those gardens in check

Page numbers are different according to how many posts per page your settings are. What date was that?

It's near Larne, street view it and you'll see why.

Quite like this one in the home town of Rory McIllroy, for those that don't know Holywood is a bit like Alderly Edge. An upmarket town brought to a standstill on a weekday afternoon by triple parked Range Rovers.

The interior is OK if you like that sort of thing but they must have tried extra, extra hard to make it that ugly on the exterior.

Genuinely awful to my eyes. Cheap mock slate on the roof, poorly placed rainwater pipes, an expanse of render with windows that look like they've been placed in at random before they could afford more. The "porch" is an abomination in itself. Crappy velux in place of a dormer.

Terrible.

OK, design is subjective, but I have to disagree:

Most new builds have artificial slate or artificial clay roof tiles (though for £800k I’d expect real slate).
Don’t see a problem with the location of the RWGs.
Render’s a traditional finish in most parts of the UK.
Why does the fenestration have to be regularly spaced?
The porch is entirely appropriate to the contemporary design.
Again, rooflights are a traditional way of providing daylight to dwellings. They’re not “crappy”, and I see no case for a dormer instead of a Velux in this instance.

What would you prefer; a twee mock Victorian pastiche with a ‘rustic’ porch, white plastic ‘cottage’ windows and cheap red brick, as seen on almost every new estate throughout the country?

I agree. If this house was built the way OzzyR1 wanted, it would look derivative and cheap.

The layout is pretty good for a family for four too. Nice to have your kids on the same floor, and the ability to put your guests in the downstairs bedrooms.
