Not a very Pistonheads viewpoint, but wouldn't those garages in that area yield some serious rental return?
Not sure the maths works.

Buy for £1.5m, total cost £1.65 m including additional stamp duty.
Sell off the resi for £1,500 / sqft, leaving you with a net cost of £1 mm, give or take.

Would need to rent each garage out for >£1,000 per month to give even a 4% gross yield.
Quick look at the comps and that seems way overpriced.

Maybe add a floor and lose a garage for separate entrances; re-organise the floors to make two 2 bedrooms with a garage each?

Apologies if this has already been on, but it was in the Craft Gin Club email for this reason:

A luxurious 16th-century manor house in Somerset which houses its very own distillery, an award-winning dry gin producing business and a stylish gin bar has gone on the market.

Not recently, but I do remember it being for sale for quite a while until the current owner must have bought it, interiors look better than they were. Garage is new.

£6m in 2007 with more land at the time.

$195 million mansion in Bel Air, anyone? Old timers will remember it as the Beverly Hillbillies gaff.
Faux French chateau named after Churchill's place in Sussex for some reason.

That's quite something. The house that makes millionaires feel poor!

The house is lovely, but Yeovil is a dump, probably the worst town in Somerset. Stick it outside Bath, Wells or Frome and it'd be great.

Not too far from my neck of the woods.

Looks to be pretty good value compared to the current competition up in North(ish) Norfolk (well north of Aylsham anyway).

Yes, and even that wasn't its first appearance in here.

It looks like somewhere that Tony Montana would live, if he'd ever made it to LA.

Underneath all the mind-boggling carpets and wallpapers that's a nice house for the money.

Agree. Some nice original period fittings and fixtures there.

Quite like the look of this.

Interiors could do with a bit of a refresh but otherwise pretty nice.

They've brightened those interior pictures up massively IMHO - I'd hate how dark it would be inside.
