Love the house but that painting is a little disturbing. Australia one.

Worksop Manor Lodge, lodge house to the now demolished Manor (after a fire) - https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news/local-news...

Bought and restored 2002 - https://www.worksopguardian.co.uk/news/manor-lodge...

top floor fire in 2007 - https://www.worksopguardian.co.uk/news/manor-lodge...

Cheap, probably not. Doesn't appear to have much Elizabethan character left inside.

Normally love properties from this era, but this is horribly ill-proportioned.

Half the house is taken up by 1 4 storey Great Hall, but no pics of it confused

no, two story great hall with 2 story great chamber above. See the bedroom photos, I think photo 2 is the great hall and photo 11 is the great chamber. Or something like that. The Great hall as an en-suite so it's one of them.

Lovely but everybody on the opposite bank and every single boat that passes can see what you are up to at all times of day and night.
Then the description has the cheek to big-up the "surreal sense of privacy"

TBF, being seen by all and sundry, all the time is a surrealist's version of privacy.

Only a few miles away from us, never seen it. Slap bang in the middle of two very busy main roads in to Worksop, not where I'd want such an expensive house.

It is a very funny place. Handy, as it has every amenity you could wish for. On the flip-side it's the sort of place over run by sweary young mums, sound system bangers and trailer burger vans. At least you can say that that place is on the outskirts of town.

Not far enough away IMO :-)

Worked on site there for a few months and had our Christmas do in a decidedly dodgy curry house followed by the site labourers getting hammered and offering the locals on for a fight!
Us design staff made ourselves scarce and found the only safe looking pub in the centre (Wetherspoons which is saying something!)

I also drive past it on the A57 2-3 days a week to work, just have to be careful negotiating the A57/Maccys roundabout. The locals seem to go into a trance when in sight of the golden arches!

Am I correct in thinking it's off that sort of half roundabout, entering the town, where that house has been half built for years?

If the BBC decided to make a drama series about mining and wanted a place for the evil pit owner to live in you could make a few bob renting this place out to them.
